Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Services Center in Baton Rouge has immediate opportunities for an experienced, forward thinking WebSphere Commerce Developer with a passion for growth and innovation.
We are looking for Websphere Commerce Developers who will be responsible for defining and implementing the technical architecture of the WebSphere Commerce solution and defining the integrations necessary to enable the functional scope of Commerce. The Websphere Commerce Developers will be performing a variety of technical duties, including participating in the system architecture design, application functionality and design, along with developing testing and deployment. The individuals will also develop the build instructions and work closely with the Configuration Management team to deploy the solution and perform trouble shooting and break-fix for all defects.
Working as an individual contributor or as part of a larger team the WebSphere Commerce Developer should demonstrate the following:

Experience with WebSphere Portal Server Admin + Developer to provide long term support for a critical consumer facing portal.
Ideal candidate should have a good combination of WebSphere Portal Server Admin experience with some Development experience with Portlet Factory and working knowledge of DB2, TDS, WebSphere Content Manager.
Highly visible lead position does require good communication and team lead experience in a support model.
The candidate should be well conversant with operational processes such as incident management, service management, change management, problem management, root cause analysis etc.

The IBM Services Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Baton Rouge, LA center. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel approximately 50% of the time. No remote opportunities exist.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • At least 6 years overall experience
  • At least 2 years experience as a Websphere Commerce Developer
  • The candidate should be well conversant with operational processes such as incident management, service management, change management, problem management, root cause analysis etc.
  • At least 2 years experience in Application server architectures (J2EE)
  • At least 2 years experience with Object Oriented (OO) programming languages such as Java

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • At least 3 years experience in web technologies and services including XML, HTML, Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • At least 3 years experience with application server architectures (J2EE)
  • At least 3 years experience with Object Oriented (OO) programming languages such as Java
  • At least 3 years experience with java programming (Servlets, JSP, EJB, JDBC)
