Responsibilities

The Web Graphical User Interface & Visualization SME will develop, support and maintain a webbased Graphical User Interface (GUI) for customer use. All development and maintenance will conform to current open web interface standards (e.g., Open GIS Consortium (OGC)) for all displayed objects. The GUI shall integrate data analytic tools including visualization components such as time series, bubble charts, plots, histograms, heat maps, and linked-node graphs, as well as containerized widgets for visualizing real-time data flows and trends in data volume and throughput. The candidate will support and maintain the current customized GUIs developed for the end-users of Government systems including, but not limited to GALE, FISHNet, FIM, and Crowd Source Analytics; to include the database components, data management tools, GUI interface enhancements and all external interface requirements. In addition, the contractor shall create a maintenance log and ensure the maintenance log contains a record of all patches and updates. Activities include: present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders. Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback. Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Leverage open source libraries where possible, including, but not limited to: D3, AnglularJS, Node.js, Leaflet, Elk Stack, Grafana, JQuery, and Bootstrap
  • Ensure high performance and optimization of user interfaces
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Develop and execute meticulous automated unit tests to ensure quality releasable software.
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  2. Bachelor's w/ 10-12 yrs. experience, Master's w/ 8-10 yrs. experience
  3. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
  4. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
  5. Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps

Desired Qualifications:

  1. STEM degree (e.g., computer science, management information systems, systems engineering).
  2. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  3. DIA systems experience [e.g., Machine-Assisted Analytic Rapid-Repository System (MARS), Generic Area Limitations Environment (GALE), Functional Intelligence System of Hierarchical Networks (FISHNet), FounDRI, Event Data, Defense
