*Must be able to travel weekly to work on-site in Frankfort, Kentucky

The Data Analyst will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining the quality of the client and vendor data received with the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) The Data Analyst will work closely with the client, carrier & PBM vendor(s) and internal/UPMC Data and Technical Leads to understand the client / vendor data and develop the appropriate test plan, test cases and test schedule in support of data onboarding and all necessary data quality assurance tasks.

The successful candidate will interact and communicate with leadership, technical staff, subject matter experts, and supporting team members, as well as the customers, on a broad range of data and project-related requests and issues. This candidate will also elicit, document, and visualize data across the enterprise and project, and will review and interpret the needs of State organizations, including how to apply them to the design and development of databases and data warehouses.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Reviews data files, mapping requirements and transformation logic.
  • Performs Data Profiling on data sources and provide observations and recommendations on data usage.
  • Works with business analysts to establish clearly defined business requirements.
  • Works with data suppliers and data architects to establish input and interface specifications.
  • Executes test plan, document issues and defects, including relevant brief descriptions of the issue with detailed steps to replicate.
  • Executes test cases, scripts and procedures (manual and automated).
  • Tracks defects to resolution, perform root cause analysis and provide testing metrics for continuous quality improvement.

Successful Candidates will possess the following:
  • Medicaid, MMIS or related experience with a state agency
  • Demonstrated experience directing multi-discipline technical teams producing Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) solutions
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with technical teams, delivery managers, project management, client management and customer stakeholders




  • Must work in Frankfort, Kentucky five days a week
  • 5+ years quality assurance experience, which includes skills necessary to work with computer systems, knowledge of data manipulation tools and analysis techniques.
  • 3+ years of advanced SQL skills
  • 3+ years experience writing queries & viewing/testing data in relational databases
  • Experience working with large data sets required and resolving data management, integration, and validation issues.
  • Ability to acquire, organize and synthesize quantitative data to identify key findings for business audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
