Your Role and Responsibilities
Must reside in or relocate to Santa Fe, NM OR be willing to travel to NM 4 days a week.

IBM Watson Health is currently seeking a deeply experienced Analytics Lead to be part of the team leading development projects focused on Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing the analytic process from eliciting user requirements through to production support for our products. The role will work collaboratively with the client and the IBM Watson Health business teams within the development project. The role will also work with account management to improve transparency, processes, and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating analytics, while assisting with moving the client to a centralized trusted Business Intelligence solution, and creating a culture of data driven decision making.

Your Role and Responsibilities
In this critical position, you will be responsible for strong individual contribution along with managing a small analytic project team to deliver quality products and services to IBM Watson Health clients.
  • Executes analytic methods to support client actions and decision-making using basic skills in statistics and database management.
  • Designs an analytic sub project and estimates effort.
  • Assists in requirements gathering and in planning testing around analytics, prepares a work schedule, tracks and communicates status to manager.
  • Ability to easily articulate the value proposition and business case for enterprise data and analytics solutions, including supporting value-add sales.
  • Leads and assists the development and documentation of analytical results, and with the presentation to clients.
  • Provides on-site support (e.g., client inquiries, requests for ad hoc reporting assistance, miscellaneous research, advice on analytic methods, consulting on client analytic workgroups) and training to client end users.
  • Creates and fosters strong relationships with first level managers and end users
  • Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Creatively answers business needs with analytic solutions
  • Mentors junior staff and fosters teamwork.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Must live in Santa Fe, NM - OR relocate to Santa Fe, NM - OR travel to work 4 days on site
  • Medicaid experience required
  • 3+ years work experience in healthcare analysis and/or consulting, using statistical analysis methods and metrics
  • 3+ years understanding healthcare industry issues and problems, relating them to client's needs, and proposing appropriate solutions
  • 2+ years experience in a management role
  • Experience in documentation and implementation of analytical concepts
  • Flexibility to adapt to projects of differing scope/change priorities
  • Experience with relational databases, data warehousing and relevant concepts
  • SQL skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 5+ years experience in healthcare analytics related to Medicaid policy and claims.
  • 5+ years work experience in healthcare analysis and/or consulting, using statistical analysis methods and metrics
  • 5+ years understanding industry issues and problems, relating them to client's needs, and proposing appropriate solutions
  • 5+ years project management/team leadership skills
  • Masters degree in Health Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics or related field or equivalent education and experience.
