Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Designer with extensive knowledge of the Business Partner Community and proven UX and UI experience to lead the design of a local project in addition to consulting on projects with other IBM development teams around the globe. You will predominantly work on UX design projects, with some contribution to UI design as well. On a daily basis you will be responsible for:
  • Researching business requirements to understand the real problem underneath the symptoms.
  • Prototyping solutions based on your research and pain points gathered from users.
  • User testing your designs with Business Partners.
  • Collaborating with development team to ensure your designs are feasible for implementation.
  • Applying a design system to your prototypes resulting in pixel perfect designs.
  • Presenting to stakeholders and effectively communicating the value of your proposed solutions.
  • Writing Agile stories for your own work.
  • Attending Agile rituals like stand up, planning, refinement and retrospective meetings.
Providing feedback to other designers and brainstorming as a team.

Who you are

You're a talented designer looking to join a cross-functional Agile team based in London. With experience in both UX and UI, you have a track record of designing intuitive user journeys and flawlessly applying design systems. In addition, you are immersed in the Business Partner Community and understand its unique opportunities and challenges. To be successful in this role you will need to show the required professional and technical expertise detailed below.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Extensive experience in UX and UI Design.

    • Including facilitating ideation sessions, prototyping, applying design systems, testing with users, interviewing users, and designing complex user journeys.

  • Extensive experience designing feature heavy applications for the Business Partner Community.

  • Extensive knowledge of the intricacies of the Business Partner Community.

  • Evidence of delivering user-centered outcomes.

  • Deep understanding of UX practices and methodologies.

  • Strong visual design experience and expertise.

  • Experience leading the design direction of a product or website.

  • Knowledge of Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, Illustrator.

  • Experience applying branding concepts and methodologies.

  • Ability to design responsively & for mobile optimisation.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Experience working and negotiating with team members and clients.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong team working and collaboration skills.

  • Proven experience and evidence of addressing the underlying problem and questioning any assumptions.

  • Planning, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload

  • An understanding of user testing techniques and methodologies.

  • Experience working in cross-discipline agile teams.

  • A portfolio of UX and UI work shared as part of this application.
  • Bachelors Degree UI/UX Design or related field
