UX Research Associate


Job Duties:


Expectations:



  • Ensure continued quality of UX research and positive experiences for participants, observers, and stakeholders
  • Support an on-going list of research needs and types of research
  • Support external vendors, as needed, when internal research capacity exceeded
  • Communicate professionally and purposefully with stakeholders and research participants to make research run more smoothly
  • Accept feedback as learning opportunities and share upward feedback to improve research quality and the team


UX Research Studies


Work with UX research team to support each UX research study. This includes:



  • Collect background materials
  • Managing study logistics (e.g., participant compensation budget, conference room scheduling, research calendar)
  • Supporting participant communication (e.g., emails to participants to confirm and remind about participation)
  • Prepare documentation (e.g., guides for researcher and observer)
  • Take notes during sessions
  • Review research reports
  • (Optional) Create visual representations of research data
  • Help to create highlight videos
  • Manage research archives


UX Research Process Management


Assist with UX research process management by helping with:



  • Confidential management of research participant volunteer list
  • Growing the research volunteer list through internal and external channels
  • Track findings and recommendations from UX research studies and help to create the system for tracking
  • Develop processes, programs, and documentation to improve the efficiency of the UX research group


Job Requirements:


Required Skills:


- Bachelor of Science/Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, or equivalent experience.


Required Soft Skills:


- Strong analytical skills.


- Passionate about User Experience Research (generative and evaluative) and understands the impact research can have on an organization.


- Quick learner, with willingness to learn and improve


Nice-to-Have Skills:


- Competency with UX design standards, heuristic analyses/expert review.


- Experience with performing user research, including usability testing.


- Experience in Prototyping and Wireframing to support research


Specific Application Experience:


- Experience with data analysis in Excel and report writing in Word is required.


- Experience with Morae, SurveyMonkey, and WebEx strongly desired
