Our Customer Experience/User Experience Research Team is unique in its positioning. Primary Research, Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Market Intelligence (MI) are components of the Customer Experience Research Program, supporting the User Experience and Digital Product Development teams at our bank. As such, this organizational structure presents a unique opportunity for the CX Research Team to play an important role in providing insights into customer needs and painpoints, measuring the experience, driving actions to address issues and helping with ideation to enhance the overall customer experience. As the User Experience Researcher, you will be part of the CX Research strategy, developing and refining the connection of data points across the customer journey and product life cycle.

Position Summary

We are seeking a mid-level or senior UX Researcher with strong qualitative research skills. Experience conducting quantitative UX research is a plus, but not required. We believe that a great researcher can learn and adapt, which is reflected on our team's emphasis on research planning and methodology design.

The UX Researcher will work closely with UX Designers and Project Stakeholders to propose and conduct research activities. The UX Researcher is responsible for designing the research methodology, conducting, analyzing and communicating results with the highest quality. We are looking for a team player, who takes joy in understanding users as much as helping the team come to the right solutions for our digital services, which includes Online Banking, Mobile Banking App, public sales website and beyond.

This individual will report to the Director of Customer Experience Research.


Plan, design and execute research plans using the appropriate research methodologies.

Evangelize research findings through written reports, presentations, and/or workshops.

Act as sounding board for designers and product managers.

Leverage Voice of the Customer data, Business Analytics, and Market Intelligence reports (secondary research) as appropriate.

Work with Director of Customer Experience Research to diagnose overall customer trends and research needs.

Required Education or Equivalent Experience

Deep, hands on experience performing user experience research. Proven ability to demonstrate research expertise and experience over time.

Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different user experience research methodologies, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.

Strong understanding of usability principles.

Analytical and detail oriented.

Naturally empathetic.

Curious and eager to learn and improve on existing and new research methodologies.

Strong story-telling, communication and presentation skills.

Ability to manage and work on multiple research initiatives.

BA in Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction or related fields. A Masters or PhD degree in these fields is preferred.

Experience working on financial services related products is a plus.

Experience performing research in agile or iterative development environments is a plus.
