The area: User Experience


We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." We're passionately interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their goals and needs, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. The User Experience team is a critical driving force behind gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design. We are a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters and web developers who collaborate closely with each other and with Engineering and Product Management to create innovative, usable, great-looking products that people love to use.


The role: User Experience Researcher


As a user experience researcher, you'll have the opportunity to conduct & support research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly products. You should have strong experience conducting user research in a real world setting, synthesizing product related findings, excellent communication skills, and an eye for observing the nuances of human behavior.


Overall Responsibilities:


- Leading user research preparation activities


- Assist in preparation & execution of user research led by other team members


- Independently drawing basic conclusions from data sets


- Creating summary documentation for group presentations


Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:


1. Conducting in-person, unstructured user interviews


2. Qualitative data analysis and synthesis


3. Identify opportunity areas to conduct user research across a variety of methods


Required Qualifications::


-B.S./B.A. in Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, Design, HCI/Computer Science, or other related human centric field


- 2 years of experience in a User Research role conducting user research (in industry)


-Highly skilled at conducting in-person interviews


-Detail-oriented, independent working style


-Understands user experience research methods and creating product level insights


-Comfortable with and skilled at analyzing large qualitative datasets (e.g., interview videos, transcripts, open-ended survey responses


-Understands basic statistical concepts


-Excited to work in a fast-paced, team environment


-Strong oral and written communication skills


- Must be able to work extended hours as needed


Nice to have Skills:


- Has developed service blueprint and/or user journey maps


-Experience with video editing and visual storytelling
