  • Work in a high op tempo environment with evolving technology, design, and implementation
  • Baseline USSS current UC deployment against best practice
  • Provide on-site engineering support
  • Assist with Technical Roadmap creation and delivery
  • Integrate specified collaborative solutions in a High Level and Detailed Design
  • Provide a Network Assessment to assess where it aligns with the road mapped strategy
  • Provide roadmap delivery support on optimizing the USSS
  • Assist with creating a communication campaign
  • Assist with the integration of the USSS productivity tools and consolidated strategies
  • Assist with the optimization of utilization processes to include:
    • Scheduling
    • Procurement
    • Trouble reporting
    • Developing an Agency to Agency communication Strategy

Baseline- Engineering Services

The UC Engineer will support UC Optimization projects, which may include:

  • Software and Equipment Baseline
  • CPE provisioning guidance (Firewall, CPE router, call manager)
  • List of software versions loaded on CPE UC devices
  • Copy of each configuration loaded on CPE UC devices
  • Baseline Configuration Templates for Field Systems
  • Attend all program and design meetings
  • Create and Deliver:
    • High Level Architecture -of proposed changes to align with best practices
    • Detailed Design Documentation
    • Low Level Design Documents including Hardware, Redundancy, Addressing, Dial plan, VLAN assignment, Topology, Failover / Recovery
  • Lab and IT Testing development:
    • Interaction with IT
  • Site Acceptance Test Plan Development
  • Assist with Network Infrastructure Optimization Design
  • Assist with Voice Infrastructure Optimization Design
  • Assist with Radio Infrastructure Optimization Design
  • Assist with Video Infrastructure Optimization Design
  • Complete Unified Communications Integration Design
  • Knowledge Transfer

Infrastructure Optimization

The Infrastructure Optimization program will align USSS's current production environment with industry best practices. Voice, Radio, and Video Solutions shall include:

  • Bandwidth Restrictions (Subzones, Links, Pipes)
  • Permissions: Allow/ Deny List
  • Firewall (Including Traversal Settings)
  • Parameter Best Practices
  • Integrations with AD
  • Redundancy (Cluster) Design and Discussion
  • LDAP/ Authentication Integration
  • SQL Integration
  • Roadmap activities The UC Engineer will also assist USSS with the development of a technology roadmap to incorporate their Unified communications platforms. This roadmap will identify milestones and check points that are essential for the continued development of USSS productivity tools.

Education Baseline

The USSS's productivity tools are only as effective as their user communities desire to embrace them. The Educational baseline assessment will measure from a sample group the ability of the USSS associate base to:

  • User community
    • Utilize feature set of total solution
    • Integration of tools into working environment
  • Support Structure
    • Provide Level One phone support to User community
    • Provide Tier 1 support - Available 24 x 7 = 365 days a year
    • Provide web support to end users
    • Triage all customer calls with a defined script
    • Utilize a trouble tracking ticket system for all issues
    • Define customer impact levels for all issues, including the Process Baseline and Efficient processes would enable the USSS to realize a more productive UC environment. As well as map the organization on a path to establish and maintain best practices.
