As UI engineer on a new CMS project you will be responsible for turning high fidelity design specifications into pixel perfect CMS templates.

In a typical day you'll be running the Hippo Java-based CMS on your local machine, you'll code HTML/CSS/JS for front end templates, and you'll submit Git pull requests for code review.

You'll work closely with the Product Team and Software Engineers to ensure both pixel perfect execution of designs and high quality front end code.


- Faithfully turning design comps and written requirements into functional, pixel perfect CMS templates.

- Coding FreeMarker CMS templates that generate valid HTML5.

- Coding CSS/Sass.

- Coding front end JS.

- Pushing code to Git for code review.


- Mastery of HTML5.

- Mastery of CSS/Sass.

- Mastery of mobile responsive layouts.

- CMS templating experience. (Hippo CMS experience is ideal, but any CMS templating experience is ok.)

- Strong Git.

- Strong JavaScript.

- Some experience with Vue, React, Angular, or similar framework.

- Experience working on an Agile team, preferably Scrum Agile.

- Ability to estimate effort and complexity of front end work to be done.

- Ability to clone and run a Java application from the command line by following a step by step Readme.txt.

- Ability to diagnose and optimize performance of static assets and browser rendering.

- An eye for pixel perfect attention to detail.


- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience

- Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Design or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

- Ideal candidates can submit a portfolio/resume with URLs to relevant work. (Candidates with relevant work visible in public code repositories like Github are even better.)


- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline is highly desirable

- Previous work experience in media production, broadcast and/or distribution

- Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results

- Strong curiosity about how Disney delivers the Magic and a desire to be a part of it

Bachelors in Computer Science or similar
