job summary:

The User Interface Designer is responsible for developing web and mobile application visuals for new Smart Communities products and features for business and technical users. Designs and develops visuals that express attributes of the brand and serve the intended user experience as described in user profiles, written requirements, task flows, site maps, and wireframes. Designs rich, modern web experiences that are accessible, progressive and responsive. Develops UI-centric design comps, interaction models, UI animations, interactive prototypes, and pixel-perfect visuals. Quickly iterates on multiple interactive design solutions and versions. Effectively balances issues around branding, visual identity, and interaction design. Stays up-to-date with latest design and technology trends. Collaborates with product managers, UX strategists, copywriters, usability testers, software engineers, and other designers to develop best-in-class designs. Present designs at development team meetings.

Develops UI-centric design comps, interaction models, UI animations, interactive prototypes, and pixel-perfect visuals. Quickly iterates on multiple interactive design solutions and versions to meet project schedules.

 
qualifications:

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

5+ years of experience designing web and mobile applications.

- Passion for designing beautiful, usable, and accessible web experiences.

- Familiarity in designing across multiple devices, such as mobile, tablet, and desktop.

- Expert in design and prototyping tools (Sketch, XD, Adobe Creative Suite)

- Familiarity with front-end development environment and HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript

- Awesome portfolio with relevant experience

- Comfortable in presenting design ideas to stakeholders and taking constructive feedback.

- Must be at ease working independently and collaboratively on UX design projects.

- Must be comfortable working in a quick paced organization.

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Experience working with an agile, user-story based design process

- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and/or Adobe Captivate advantageous

- Experience with enterprise and technical user audiences

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in UI design.
