Tool Engineer

Contract position: An American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment is looking for a Tooling Manufacturing Engineer in the Coffeyville, KS area. This is a 7-month CONTRACT position. No per diem available.

Responsibilities for the Tool Engineer

  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans, and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs.
  • Investigate, gather, and analyze data and implement solutions. Innovate and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas.
  • Support plans for lean manufacturing to include line flow simulations, matrix synchronization modeling, line balancing, and efficient material flow presentation in conjunction with an MEII or Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

Requirements for the Tool Engineer

  • Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience. Background in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.). Must have Tooling experience (designing jigs and fixtures).
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process. Working knowledge of database management tools, and process management systems. Experience with CAD.
