Job Description

EIT leadership is bringing together a new organization, Vulnerability & Patching Operations, which will provide a consistent approach to remediation processes, reporting, and central operational support functions for enterprise level aspects of vulnerability and patch management, including vulnerability/patch event management, process improvement, and governance escalation.

These two positions are for the Vulnerability Central Operations leaders position:

Vulnerability Central Operations leader

The Vulnerability Central Operations leader oversees a team that drives the vulnerability remediation activities within Wells Fargo. The key functions of the Vulnerability Central Operations team are to drive the development of vulnerability remediation solutions, conduct the vulnerability remediation planning process which results in the establishment of remediation events and remediation centers, manage the remediation events and centers, and monitor the progress of all remediation activities.

Key to this role is the establishment of strong relationships with the vulnerability remediation process stakeholder leadership, including Competency Center, platform technology groups, Enterprise Availability Coordination Office, Enterprise Infrastructure Technology and others. Acts as the single point of contact for the Vulnerability Central processes. Partners with technology development teams and Project Management to influence workflow and automation tooling strategy for Vulnerability Central and to determine requirements for solutions to support existing and emerging capabilities.

Vulnerability Operations Process Analysis and Optimization leader

The Vulnerability Operations Process Analysis and Optimization leader oversees a team of business system and business process consultants who provide process improvement / optimization services to the Wells Fargo enterprise Vulnerability & Patching Operations processes. This leader will provide several important benefits to the emerging Vulnerability & Patching Operations organization and processes. First, detailed process data analysis will be performed to detect anomalies worthy of greater scrutiny and action. Second, vulnerability operations process data analysis will be conducted to identify trends key to fine-tuning the resources engaged in the process, prioritization of the workflow routing through the process, and other such benefits. Third, the vulnerability remediation processes will need to be documented and continuously improved in order to keep up with the changing vulnerability landscape, toolset, etc..

Key to this role is the establishment of strong relationships with the vulnerability remediation process stakeholder leadership, including Competency Center, platform technology groups, Enterprise Availability Coordination Office, Enterprise Infrastructure Technology and others. Acts as a key partner to the Vulnerability Central Operations leader to effectively lead continuous improvement of the Vulnerability Central processes while also leveraging the data analysis function to identify and escalate important anomalies and trends deserving of special attention. Partners with technology development teams and Project Management to influence workflow and automation tooling strategy and requirements necessary to support data analysis and trending activities for Vulnerability Central process data.



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology experience
  • 5+ years of management experience in an IT environment



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to manage projects and issues involving multiple technology platforms
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo's Remedy Asset Management (PAC2000) application
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project) skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of asset management function support
  • Knowledge and understanding of diverse platforms and operating systems, including current and emerging technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of platform technologies including network, distributed systems, desktop computing, voice, and threat management technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC): code control, build and deployment
  • Knowledge and understanding of system deployment processes to multiple environment regions
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: build/deploy processes, and release management
  • Managing deployment and ongoing management and resolution of technical issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of Wells Fargo risk platforms, such as Security Planning & Assessment of Risks/Controls (SPARC), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Information Services Application Inventory (ISAI), Vendor Management System of Record (VSMOR), Third Party Information Management Systems (TRIMS), Control Review Assessment System Plus (CRAS+), or Centralized Issue and Corrective Action Tracking (CICAT)



Other Desired Qualifications
  • While experience with vulnerability remediation and patching processes would be helpful and desirable, experience with other remediation and risk management disciplines will be considered.
  • Knowledge of Technology Infrastructure distributed platforms, compute platforms
  • Knowledge of application build and release processes
  • Knowledge of .Net, Java, software lifecycle release tools (UDeploy, Subversion, Github), workflow tools, Remedy, or other experience in application support
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and/or application support and maintenance processes not limited to EACO, DMAN/AMCT, enhanced monitoring solutions, etc.
  • Ability to create technology, process, or operational solutions based on business requirements
  • Ability to manage and balance risk while making sound decisions in high pressure situations
  • Ability to think strategically and lead teams to achieve enterprise goals


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
