Randstad Technologies is searching for experienced Test Engineers to support our client in Reston, VA on a contract opportunity supporting their IT Operations division.

Job Description

The Test Engineer is a member of an agile team, responsible for QA function of this team. Test Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing manual and automated test scripts, test plans, and test cases and enable other team members to perform QA function as needed.

Analysis of functional requirements, testing applications, developing test plans, test cases, test scripts and test automations, and evaluating test results to determine compliance with test plans and established business processes.

responsibilities:

Required Skills:

- Five years of progressively responsible experience with experience in the following areas is preferred:

o Perform whitebox and blackbox validation

o Provide guidance and direction to team members in identifying and documenting test scenarios

o Demonstrate ability to operate without specific direction given

o Demonstrate exceptional skills and communicate without guidance

o Prepare accurate resource estimates at the project level

o Analyze, document, and verify system change requests (defects, enhancements, new features)

o Collaborate with the PM and Development staff as needed

o Perform and assist others in data validation against Oracle database

o Prepare detailed test reports

- Experience with both manual and automated test designing required

- Experience with Data Centric testing using advanced SQL techniques.

- Familiar with Jira and HP ALM

- Familiar with automation tools like Selenium, Cucumber

- Familiar with Performance Testing tools and techniques

- Excellent skills with writing and analyzing complex SQL queries

- Experience with techniques of problem identification, documentation, resolution, and testing

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working in DevOps environment.

- Exposure to the Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure

- Java & JavaScript Coding skill a plus

 
qualifications:

Education/Certifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or MIS.

- 5 years of experience in software systems, testing, and infrastructure development and administration

- AWS Associate or Professional Certification preferred (not required).

 
skills: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop test strategies, plans, cases, and scripts for testing AWS Services

- Knowledge of AWS services DynamoDB, S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS and Amazon RDS

- Seven years of testing experience with web based applications leveraging relational DBMS software.

- Develops and maintains test data as required.

- Perform system testing by executing test plans. Reports, documents, and tracks resolutions for software "bugs" identified in the testing process.

- Provide guidance to other team members on carrying out QA duties as needed.

- Assist in the confirmation of issues reported from outside sources, and collaborates with system development staff in understanding issues and desired resolution.

- Participate in the transfer of fully tested software into operational versions, including the preparation and distribution of software and appropriate collateral materials to users.

- Perform a variety of technical tasks that include: conducting routine tasks in conformance with set procedures within the department; interacting with users or other departments; testing applications, systems and procedures; establishing and documenting procedures for carrying out technical duties, in compliance with best practices or new technology; and being accountable for compliance with regulatory requirements for technical function.

- Prepare routine correspondence, internal reports, and varied correspondence or reports for internal/external review.

- Assist in the identification, selection, and implementation of software tools and technologies, and testing techniques and procedures that facilitates the SQA process.

- Create/maintain test data needed for manual and automated testing.

- Communicate all test findings to the team in timely manner and using proper tools.

- Prepare documentation related to release readiness and testing status.

- Review and analyze systems requirements documentation in the preparation of test plans.

- Develop functional automation scripts in a variety of supported tool sets.
