Your Role and Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and implement manufacturing test code for an enterprise class storage product family. The position requires interfacing with product development team in Tucson, the Reliability and Serviceability (RAS) development team, and the new products engineering team in San Jose on test requirements for new product launch activities. Work responsibilities are building test automation, testing test cases on hardware, debugging, documenting findings via defect tracking tools. Additional responsibilities include maintaining current product test cases with quality improvements or changes due to new hardware; and supporting San Jose test servers, testers, and the network environment.

The candidate must have excellent technical problem solving, leadership, and communication skills. The role requires collaboration with a world wide team: IBM Hungary for volume manufacturing, IBM GDL for burst fulfillment, other fulfillment locations, as well as refurbishment locations. The position will require active support for month end/quarter end product shipments, and new product launch activities which will require travel depending on the location.

  • Programming: Java, C/C++,
  • Scripting Languages: Ksh, Bash, TCL/Tk, Expect, Awk, Python
  • Applications: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Lotus Notes, CVS
  • Operating Systems: AIX, Linux, Windows
  • Other: Ability to debug hardware/software issues, test process design
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 10 years experience as a coder/programmer
