Our client is in need of a Telecom technician for an 8+ month project in Sacramento, CA.


TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN - Ideally is an experienced telecommunications field technician - with adds, moves and change experience on PBX (NEC 2400, IPX, 8500, 9500 ) and VoIP ( Cisco Call Manager) telephone system experience.


SME (subject matter expert) on most voice technicalities and application's, servers and can performs his job functions independently. (Min - 5 years' experience required performing SME job duties)


Duties include the following bullet items that the remaining staff do not and cannot perform.


- Voice Applications - SME


- NEC Global Navigator ACD - SME


- Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (Unified CCX) - SME


- Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise (Packaged CCE) - SME


- Cisco Unity Connection - Voice Mail - SME


- Technical lead/subject matter expert for ACD, VM, and Auto Attendant application designs - SME


- Engineers solutions for Voice Messaging applications such as Cisco Unity Voice Mail, Cisco UCCX Automated Call Distribution system and Cisco Auto Attendant scripts to support organizational and departmental projects.


- Evaluates broad and complex user and network requirements and design, specifies and installs VoIP applications


- Lead architect of Cisco VoIP related design


- Leads or participates in cross-functional group discussions, activities and efforts for the Unified Communications


- Provides subject matter expertise to the business units at CLIENTS with respect to lifecycle management, features and


functions that should be implemented strategically, and proposing efficient uses or retraining users to make the most of the VoIP investment


- Independently designs, adds and reconfigures VoIP messaging hardware and applications


- Upgrades software and designs custom Auto Attendants scripts for departmental users


- Advance skills and ability to work independently to resolve complex issues pertaining to enterprise wide CLIENT systems, applications and hardware


- Provides expert advice to other units on new or retrofit building projects and communications infrastructure


- Develops specifications for and takes a lead role in testing and evaluation of new or enhanced network applications and services


- Performs traffic study analysis to determine best configuration of network components


- Initiates or recommends complex and highly complex communications and network system changes


- Develops hardware and software standards where applicable


I. Under minimal supervision the primary responsibility in maintaining and modifying communications equipment including such items as an Call Manager VoIP, NEC PBX, ACD, Voice Mail administration and maintenance within a complex communications Network. Components include but are not limited to Call Manager VoIP network, 8 - NEC PBX's, integrated ACD applications, external open application interfaces, CCIS and ISDN interconnectivity to the public network. Additional items of responsibility include CSU, DRU, DCS, T-1, T-3, and Voice over IP, Intercom, Paging, 48 volt power, and various PC applications.


This position is responsible to initiate repairs, changes and/or modifications in an efficient, productive, and professional manner on all systems or applications within the network including appropriate responsiveness, accuracy including following escalation procedures when necessary. This position is also responsible for the completion of various functions including preventive maintenance, wiring installations, and other functions as deemed necessary to establish or maintain full efficiency of telecommunications systems. Responsibilities also include the determination of the ramifications due to installation and/or programming changes to critical systems before and after implementation. Independently enhances the usage of systems to further efficiency of call processing automation and related equipment based on customers' expectations. Reviews and modifies for full functionality all voice communications services within the department. Responsible for the review, and inspections of Key system and add, move, and change locations as it pertains to the installation of voice and data equipment.


2. With minimal supervision provide complete installation of Voice Mail Automatic Attendant, Personal Mail Boxes and Special Voice Applications in the Medical Centers Unity VoIP Voice Mail.


Tasks also include but are not limited to reading and reviewing alarms on the system. Building individual User Mail Box's. Building a variety of different types of Mail Box's. (Bnlletin Board, Transfer, Time, etc.) Building Auto Attendants with week and Holiday Schedules. Running reports on individual Auto Attendant Mail Box for individual applications. Create or Edit Flow chart for maintaining Manuals. Manipulating Excel, MS Word, WordPerfect, Crystal and Power Point documents.


3. Under minimal supervision, install internal and external copper and fiber cabling and associated mounting equipment to applicable BICSI standards. Accurate testing and documentation of fiber and copper facilities is therefore a requirement of this position.


Relative duties would include, but not be limited to, Category3, 5E, or 6 copper cabling


Installation and maintenance, and 62.5 and 9 micron fiber installation and maintenance. Installation of internal building cabling being the primary responsibility; however, the installation or maintenance of Outside plant is occasionally required. This position is also responsible for cabling installations including installations in asbestos environments. Adherence to applicable building, fire, OSHPD, OSHA, JCAHO and safety guide lines and/or regulations is required

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES


Demonstrated experience in installation and maintenance of a PBX, or Central office equipment or equivalent electronic equipment.


Demonstrated experience in installation, maintenance, of T-carrier for voice and data applications.


Demonstrated experience in installation and maintenance of Electronic key systems.


Demonstrated experience and ability to comprehend theory of operation of electronic devices. Ability to comprehend complex technical documentation and instruct personnel on the application or procedure.


Proven ability to follow safety practices, including but not limited to those provided by


OSHA, JCAHO, and the University.


Knowledge and ability to operate multiple pieces of test equipment. Experience using , deciphering and setup of said equipment for analysis of data.


Ability to read and understand blue prints and construction documents including the ability to interpret customers needs and customize an application to fall within the systems parameters. Ability to document work preformed for storage in appropriate format, ie Visio, Excel, Word, Word Perfect, etc ..


Knowledge of technical standards in reference to telecommunications specifications and FCC


regulations.


Experience, with and ability to restore data bases of complicated communications systems, Key, PBX, hybrid key systems, etc.


Skilled in the practice of verbal communication to relay complex ideals and new evolving technologies.


Ability to analyze a situation for solutions and develop a plan to enhance departmental goals


and objectives.


Working knowledge as it relates to outside communications agencies, there roles and responsibilities to CLIENT.


Analytical skills, good judgement and problem solving including the ability to communicate clearly and quick:ly.


Ability to act as reference person for Administration. Must be able to respond in


detail to inquiries form employees and supervisors about the unit maintenance, procedures, and provide reports documenting statistics.


Interact daily with a diverse group of individuals, by analyzing policies, resolving problems and directing persons appropriately to meet the goals and objectives as out lined by Administration.


Ability to follow policy and procedure as defined by the CLIENT and Telecommunications


department.
