Wells Fargo Wealth Technology implements IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; drives to and leverages an optimized Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables the smooth servicing of Wells Fargo Wealth management customers. The Wealth Investment Risk, Strategy and Trading team delivers applications for front and back office personnel to manage risk, and strategy and trade orders generation on high net worth and ultra-high net worth client portfolios. The Wealth Technology Investment Application Delivery team manages approximately 25 Investment applications, both vendor and internally built.

The position is for an Application Development/Technology Manager to provide leadership and direction in support of these applications. This management position will have direct reports that are made up of Application System Engineers and Business Analysts that are geographically distributed. This position requires a driven individual to work with our vendors and project managers to lead technical solutions for our business partners. The candidate will be required to communicate and interact with senior Technical and Business leaders. This role requires leadership in changing processes and requirements to meet changing technologies and demand, while reducing complexity of the software portfolio and timely retirement of aging applications and versions.

This role will deliver projects ranging from Business As Usual (small enhancements) to business Initiatives projects with budgets of 1MM+. This role requires a clear understanding of the architecture of the enterprise environment with knowledge of Enterprise Project Management and Software Delivery Lifecycle in order to meet release timelines. Strong knowledge of Enterprise Security Application Practices is preferred.

This position manages the day to day health and responsiveness of inhouse and vendor systems to support Wealth Investment Management professionals. The position will lead the team in adhering to SLAs and other operational metrics while maintaining stability of the environment. The positions requires close collaboration with many centers of excellence such as Change Management Services teams, Platform Engineering team, Data Management, Quality Assurance teams. The positions activities including leading BCP application participation, SDLC & ERM activities, technical refreshes, critical surveys, analysis, platform releases, patching, vulnerabilities, and system management support for EIT mandates. This position also supports critical safety and soundness deliverables.

The candidate must possess technology industry experience, enterprise application delivery, as well as knowledge of business and technology processes and controls. Strong knowledge of budgets is needed and will manage budgets of 1MM+. Strong business management skills requiring relationship management with customers and peer technology teams. Ability to effectively manage resources and drive efficiencies and innovation.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of technology experience3+ years of leadership or management experience, in an IT environment

Other Desired Qualifications 4+ years of managing a development team Functional knowledge of Investments (e.g. Equities, Fixed Income, Options, Mutual Funds processing, Investment Research/Performance, Investment Portfolio Management, Trade Order Management, etc) Understanding of Project life-cycle within a context of large and complex organization Ability to handle on-call, heavy workload, flexible schedule and occasional off-hours Ability to quickly identify and focus on central issues in a complex situation with heightened sense of urgency and resolve Ability to evaluate risks / rewards and impacts of decisions at the enterprise level balanced with the ability to take action in a decisive and timely manner Strong knowledge and experience managing change, quality, version control and application security 10+ years of knowledge and/or experience with Java development inclusive of: JBoss, Web Services, REST, JSON, JMS/Solace, Eclipse. Will also consider .Net framework technologies Knowledge and experience with major database engines including Oracle, SQL Server and DB2 Knowledge and experience with ETL tools such as InformaticaJob Expectations
