Job Description

The Community Banking Technology (CBT) Group is seeking a Technology Development Sr Manager to lead the Digital Development of the new Branch Teller System. This leader will also assume responsibility for our world class ATM systems, including WebATM, WF-Assist, Vault-Manager and PCSS applications.

This leader will collaborate closely with business partners, network and infrastructure teams to deliver digital consumer and team member experiences across all Teller Transactions, whether a team member assisted Teller Transaction or Automated Teller Machine transaction.

Key areas of accountability and responsibility include:

  • Accountable for phased design, development and delivery of the next generation Teller system that will replace SVT. SVT is a legacy branch application demonstrating real opportunities to business logic and transaction actions with teller and self-service channels ATM /Digital)
  • Modernize the Teller system ensure high-performance teller app delivered in modern client & server technology (Angular/Tomcat) served from the data center
  • Retire Branch Servers and move to centralized servers in the data center
  • Integrate the new teller system with the new Device Management system to improve availability, resiliency and performance of all device peripherals.
  • Design for Enterprise Cloud integration when Cloud environment stable and ready
  • Build for future points of convergence and choreography between teller and banker; Leverage business services/ micro services architecture as appropriate and ensure ease of integration for future branch banker platforms, including, but not limited to Salesforce /Customer Relationship View.
  • Define development and integration patterns with Salesforce Lightning where banker intervention within app or need to seamlessly pass transaction to banker device may improve team member and customer experience.
  • Ensure FICUT look & feel for CX design is optimized for improving ease of use by Tellers translating to improved Teller-Customer interactions & ergonomics
  • Ensure Total Cost of Ownership for Teller System is taken into account by enforcing modular development technologies & fast-track development practices
  • Deliver reliable access to devices using device management services that support efficient real-time device health monitoring thereby improving stability and reliability; Support device pairing with banker devices (check scanners, Pin Pads, Printers, Assisted Services ATMs & tablets, etc.)
  • Build / Staff team of highly skilled engineers with experience in modern / digital technologies to further enable innovative digital branch vision; Accountable for building a high performing application team that can deliver on the Digital Branch vision in adherence with Wells Fargo policies and procedures for secure mobile software development coding practices.


Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 5+ years of management experience in technology
  • 10+ years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tools

  • Management experience including large/multiple application development efforts within a small-to-medium size line of business
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to manage large, multitier technology efforts, driving initiatives to resolution
  • Ability to identify business needs and deliver solutions in close partnership with line of business and technology
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Experience developing and executing business vision, strategies, and goals.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships for products or services including: contract negotiation, oversight, and SLA management

Other Desired: Business Leadership

Strong financial management experience managing multiple accounting units concurrently including base and incremental budgets, project budgets, and cost allocation models.

Experience in driving organizational transformation to meet evolving business climate and demands.

Demonstrated experience partnering with direct and in-direct business line senior leaders in long range strategic planning and ensuring integration with enterprise-wide technology strategy. This includes experience and the ability to balance all the different considerations and sensitivities with partners and influence positive strategic direction.

Aptitude for complex problem solving and a pragmatic results orientation.

Technology Leadership

Knowledge and understanding of Store Vision Teller, Web and Assisted Service ATMs, and Store Vision Platform.

Proven experience in web based technology design and engineering.

Ability to assess current skillsets, source and develop mobile development competencies and proficiencies, shift away from legacy vendor management dependencies and effectively contain legacy development practices/design patterns.

People Leadership

7+ years of experience managing a complex organization of 220+ team members (and contract staff) including subordinate senior managers and individual contributors.

Demonstrated ability to effectively drive and lead organizational change.

Demonstrated track record of successfully building organizational capability including high performing teams, process, and technology. This includes a keen focus and proven results in identify talent gaps and developing a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement, customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
