Your Role and Responsibilities
We have an opportunity for a driven Technical Support Engineer/Professional to join our Australian Development Lab Support Centre, supporting our Internet Of Things - Engineering Lifecycle Management Delivery platform. The platform is a complete solution for developing software and software-based systems. It allows organisations to operate more efficiently and deliver innovative products and services that set them apart from their competitors.

This is a quality technical support role and you will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the internal code of
Engineering Lifecycle Management software tools. This role will provide the successful candidate with a long-term career opportunity in a stable, professional and friendly work environment.

In this role youll specialises in performing and enabling remote technical support of IBM software, hardware and solutions. Providing technical support assistance to clients and IBM field support (SSRs) using problem determination/problem source identification skills.

Demonstrating your technical and negotiation skills, youll collaborate with other support teams to prioritise and diagnose problems to resolution. Clearly communicating your action plans, youll ensure clients feel supported.

Drawing upon your experience, youll be able to recommend and implement improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes.

Youll have the opportunity to deliver training and mentoring for others on the team, whilst developing your own skills in client management, problem analysis and issue resolution.

Your day to day will include providing technical support via phone and email to clients throughout the Asia Pacific region. Creating technical content for web-based self-help resources.
Ideally youll have experience with Modelling Management, Change and, Configuration Management Systems, Reporting Management, Enterprise Architecture Solutions, such as Rational Team Concert, DOORS Next Generation, Quality Manager, Rhapsody, Rhapsody Model Manager, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Synergy and Change, Subversion, TestDirector, PVCS tracker, Rational Insight, Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence, Publishing Engine, and Method Composer is a bonus.


To be a success youll:
  • Preferably possess an IT related university degree, combined with 2-5 years commercial experience in a systems administration environment.
  • Have skills in scripting languages such as Java, C, C++, C#.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills in English. Business level language skill (written and verbal) in one or more languages, including Korean, Mandarin, Japanese would be advantageous.
  • possess initiative, client focus, good problem solving, and time management skills. Understanding of Software development cycle.
  • A solid technical background in operating systems administration (e.g. Unix, Linux or Windows) and RDBMS's such as Oracle / SQL Server / DB2 / other.

Location Statement
This position is currently located out of West Pennant Hills. Interviews may be scheduled for this location, however the position is to based out of the IBM Centre in St Leonards from August 2019.
