Tier 1 support for Wifi upgrades. Like a help desk person. *NOC Support Experience *Fiber Infrastucture SME *Basic Networking Knowledge *Technical Customer Support.. The key to this role is the GPON deployment understanding. When submitting candidates note the shift or shifts they are available for.(1st shift 7:30am to 4pm) (2nd Shift 8:30am - 7pm) (3rd Shift 8:30pm-7am). Also these shift could run into the weekends as well, so it could be a Wed through Sun etc. Make sure candidate can in fact work weekends.


Key responsibilities of this position: Provides operational support to client's wireless network infrastructure and GPON equipment. This position will be a role within the Telecom Services Team and take direction from the Telecom Services Supervisor.


The Wireless Operations Technican 1 will provide tier 1 onsite support, proactive monitoring and ongoing maintenance of the wireless network, which includes Wi-Fi access points and all GPON equipment . This position provides technical support and onsite consultation to customers and ensures 24x7 operational support and maintenance of the wireless network infrastructure. Wireless network infrastructure includes: wireless access points, antennas, ONT's, OLT's, fiber patch panels, and fiber splitters. This role also involves collaboration with other network engineering teams and service suppliers to escalte open incidents to tier 2 operational support teams.


The Wireless Operations Technican 1 will work within a network operations team, to resolve routine issues and help wireless engineers develop wireless network solutions and configurations. The Wireless Operations Technican 1 will work with external vendors, internally with other operations teams, and different Business Units.


A successful candidate has knowledge and skills necessary to troubleshoot various wireless networking issues based on basic wireless knowledge and practical experience.


*1 year in wireless enterprise environments that operate 7x24 services.


* Strong fundamental knowledge and experience with enterprise wireless support, sustainment, and implementation.


* Basic understanding of Wi-Fi RF characteristics and signal propagation.


*Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)


* Solid wireless network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.


* Basic understanding of GPON deployments.


Required Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
