Job Description:

Act as a lead in providing application design guidance, consultation and advanced technical support, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs. Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code. Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.

The position will provide user support as well as advanced technical support for the following internally developed applications:

  • CoBRRa (Collaborative Business Rule Repository Application). CoBRRa is a .Net application used to create, manage, share, and automate business rules and related assets. It is an extremely rich application with a huge array of capabilities for groups that manage business logic in the form of rules.
  • ARGenT (Automated Rule Generation and Testing). ARGenT is also a .Net application. It reads business rule specifications from CoBRRa, generates executable rules code, creates test cases, and tracks the execution of test cases through a testing and deployment cycle.
  • ARGenT Testing Services. These are java web services that are used to test rules modeled in the CoBRRa / ARGenT suite.
  • ARGenT Runtime Components. These are java components delivered to consuming services and applications wishing to execute business rules as part of their runtime behaviors.
  • CoBRRaWeb. This is a web-hosted version of the CoBRRa/ARGenT application suite, allowing the use of a certain subset of the functionality by means of a browser connection.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical support to our user community
  • Work as an integration lead and validation technician with other technology partners
  • Creating design documents
  • Code development
  • Ensuring security, quality, and performance requirements are met
  • Providing coding direction to less experienced staff

This position is primarily a support position but it also requires some software development in both JAVA and .Net technologies on a regular basis. The ideal candidate is expected to enjoy working and providing technical support to our user community. He or she is also expected to engage in software development activities. This position is a mix of development and support position.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 3+ years of Java experience
  • 3+ years of .net experience
  • 3+ years of C# experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • 3+ years of Oracle experience
  • 3+ years of SQL experience
  • Production support experience in a financial services company
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Ability to dissect technical problems, analyze data, and recommend potential solutions
  • Ability to manage projects or programs following a Standard Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) approach, with scheduled release code deployments
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC): code control, build and deployment

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience providing technical support to diverse user communities
  • Experience working as an integration lead and validation technician with other technology partners is highly desired
