IT Support Agent - Jacksonville, FL

3 Month+ Contract

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform computer and network troubleshooting in a call center environment.
  • Assist users remotely via phone, email, and virtual connections regarding computer hardware, software, networks, and telephone systems.
  • Diagnose and correct technical failures.
  • Document problems and resolutions via a help desk ticketing system
  • Provide technical training
  • Communicate details about computer/systems updates, pending problems and changes; explain procedures and give instructions to others
  • Provide user assistance with software, hardware, and processes
  • Install/re-install software; as necessary to resolve issues
  • Verify that transactional, inventory, and cash control data is captured, and transmitted correctly to/from corporate
  • Research and resolve data transmission issues
  • Assist other departments in data research or recreation/recapture of missing/lost data
  • Assist users with passwords, resetting as necessary, Set up and disable user access
  • Ability and willingness to work a schedule that includes weekend holidays and nights
  • Provide customer support in a call center environment, assisting customers with their needs

Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years experience conducting computer and network troubleshooting in a call center or desktop support environment.
  • A+ and/or Network+ certified, or equivalent work experience
  • Comfortable working with Windows 7 and XP, Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Office Suite
  • Experienced with Remote Control and Virtual connections
  • Familiar Windows CE/Mobil and i-OS and iPhone/pad
  • Experience with wide area networks, consisting of several remote locations
  • Strong understanding of wireless networks and VPN technologies
  • Strong customer service skills and a willingness to provide excellent customer service at all times. Exhibits patience and professionalism when serving others.
  • Customer service focus with a strong interest in working with people in a support service role
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the telephone verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast paced ever changing environment
  • Strong listening, analytical and problem solving skills; ability to make informed decisions and exercise sound judgment in decision making
  • Results-oriented; demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and perform duties without direct supervision
  • Attention-to-detail with a high degree of accuracy

Preferred Skills:

  • 1 to 2 years experience troubleshooting and performing technical support and user assistance in a high volume call center setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or 3 to 5 years technical support experience.
  • Retail merchandising and/or sales audit systems experience
  • POS System experience
  • IBM i-Series (AS400) experience
