Job Description

The Application System Engineer 6 is a versatile and highly motivated individual who acts as the highest level technical role on behalf of the application. The primary objective of this role is to be a key lead in the design, stewardship, expansion, innovation, maintenance and support of the Mortgage Customer Contact Services (MCCS). These are services hosted within Lending Grid and used to support a number of mortgage servicing systems and being extended to other systems and lines of business. As a MCCS Web Service Leader, you will work with a team of Applications System engineers and Business Analysts, while partnering closely with Lending Grid, Rules Engine, CIV development, Test engineers, and a wide range of other teams involved working on the release. You will drive continuous process improvement, and increase the efficiency and quality of our applications. You will identify and implement creative ways to monitor and continuously improve performance and best practices. You will meet regularly with management/technical leaders/business partners to gather feedback, plan future enhancements, set targets and set specific goals for improving the overall MCCS platform. You will help set and execute to the strategic vision by driving the software continuous improvement process and execution across teams, working collaboratively with all levels of business and technology.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and improve the MCCS library of services from a technical perspective. Work with other services providers and users of services to integrate services as appropriate and expand business capabilities without service duplication.
  • Provide end-to-end view of MCCS catalog of services at release level from technical and business perspectives. Understand how the services are called by CIV, and what other systems and services they integrate with (ie Rules Engine, MSP, etc)
  • Implement tools and best practices for release, environment, and configuration management to improve deploy success rates. This includes the new SDLC process and enterprise BAR tools.
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality and reusability in the Services.
  • Act as a strong advocate for collaboration and teamwork across the wide range of teams and team members involved in service development and support.
  • Collaborate with architects and other development teams to increase awareness of MCCS service capabilities.
  • Work closely with Lending Grid, and Lending Grid testing teams.
  • Take ownership of problems and issues even while involvingand collaborating with other teams and team members in research and resolution.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bring innovative ideas and solutions to improve the platform
  • Adapt the team to become more Agile with DEVOPs practices and automation technologies
  • Adopt MCCS to leverage Enterprise architectural principles, including SEAR

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 3+ years of Web Services experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • 4+ years of Spring experience
  • 6+ years of Java experience
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to interact with a diverse team
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple source code version control systems in working with branches, tags and labels

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ middleware web service development, preferred with experience of customized data binding tech, such as JAXB and XMLBean
  • RESTful web service development
  • Extensive knowledge of Lending Grid, Lending Grid tools, and Lending Grid processes
  • Hands on knowledge of WCM & SIM
  • Deep knowledge Spring web service, framework, JAXB and XMLBean
