Looking for a Technical Project Manager with experience working in the HR space. The ideal candidate will have worked on projects that cross/impact multiple HR systems/processes; be familiar with HR reporting and how to optimize HR technology; and have successfully served as a strategic business partner (with a firm understanding of what the org is trying to achieve as it builds/enhances HR systems).


It would be nice to have a Technical Project Manager who has experience with Learning Management Systems, but the priority is HR experience as we are looking to build a LMS in a non-traditional way.


It's important that this individual can collaborate with different teams, work with internal and external stakeholders, and work with senior management. Will interact directly with the COO and other high level executives.


OVERVIEW:


Reporting to the Senior Director, Application Enablement, the Technical Project Manager (Boston, MA) is responsible for all stages and types of IT initiatives from proposal and requirements definition to project planning and implementation. A major part of this position is to provide a proactive interface between the internal customers and the technical/programming staff to ensure effective definition and delivery of business applications.


In order to be successful in this role, you will possess strong business analysis, application design and project management skills. You will also be someone who is comfortable working with and across teams, communicating requirements, change and business needs.


The Technical Project Manager (Boston, MA) will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a mentor, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project Management



  • Lead and participate in the design, development and delivery of effective business applications
  • Unravel, define and document complex business requirements and processes
  • Lead design sessions and review sessions with technical and business staffs, including all levels of management
  • Develop a detailed project plan, in alignment with the established project management methodology, to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Review and assess vendor proposals
  • Manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques
  • Direct the activities of on-site and off-site consultants
  • Manage application design through the various lifecycle stages from business need through design and delivery
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships, interacting with them at the technical level, as required
  • Collaborate with developers, quality assurance, production support, and account teams to provide technical direction on systems analysis, design, development, testing and deployment
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of the solution into production
  • Document technical requirements, develop and oversee project plans and implement change control procedures
  • Facilitate code reviews, software design sessions, and architectural reviews
  • Participate in technical advisory roles, as required
  • Ensure effective handoff to operations for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting


Leadership and Strategy



  • Manage a team of IT Business Analysts who provide project support.
  • Ensure all team members have clear goals and accountabilities, professional development opportunities and timely performance reviews
  • Serve as a member of the IT leadership, improving the way technology is delivered to the enterprise including, finding, implementing and documenting integrated solutions to computer problems


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • At least 3-5 years+ experience in the workforce
  • At least 3 years experience in HR System project management
  • LMS experience
  • At least 3 years experience in xAPI/API integration development
  • 5 years' experience in business analysis or project management in a complex business and systems environment
  • Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree typical/preferred
  • Experience in Salesforce required
  • Experience with large scale project management
  • A strong background driving features from start to finish - definition, scope/prioritization, creating functional specs, driving feature teams, incorporating feedback
  • Proven ability to work with individuals at all organization levels
  • Proven ability to drive large scale projects with high collaboration and thought leadership
  • Excellent decision making skills and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure
  • Excellent skills in presentation, communication and senior leadership engagements, including the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
