As the Technical Architect of our Development Operations (DevOps) team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and rolling out Dine Brands DevOps platform to support a multi-scrum-team development environment. Please note:  This is a hands-on engineering/architecture position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be technical lead and mentor for a soon to be created DevOps Team
  • You will design our DevOps architecture from the ground up allowing Dine Brands IT to have a best-in-class DevOps infrastructure
  • You will manage and deploy our new cloud-based SaaS solution on MS Azure and AWS
  • You will manage all release and deployment activities including engineering decisions and maintain our CI and CD pipelines for continuous advancement
  • You will work closely with the engineering teams and IT Ops organization to achieve robust, scalable automated testing and release procedures within a multi-scrum-team development environment
  • You will actively lead planning meetings to plan deployment strategies when dev team plans application development.
  • You will evangelize the importance of CI/CD practices
  • You will be responsible for training developers and QA engineers in the DevOps practices
  • You will design and implement robust cloud infrastructure monitoring solution for predictive alerts and advanced telematics
  • You will lead and plan application releases and change control functions
  • You will document all policies and procedures related to our best-in-class DevOps infrastructure and processes
  • You will develop, test, debug, implement and document complex systems and applications
  • You will plan and execute the migration of all types of workloads to cloud providers such as AWS
  • You will Implement controls and processes to drive towards PCI and SOX compliance

  • You have demonstrated that you can architect, build and execute a best-in-class DevOps infrastructure and associated processes
  • AWS Professional (Architect and/or DevOps) Certification
  • Must possess experience designing, building, maintaining, migrating, tuning, administering, supporting, and solving problems in complex applications delivery and production environments
  • 7+  years of disciplined software engineering experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems
  • 5+ years of working with developers in an Agile methodology environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing and supporting systems in AWS or other cloud providers
  • 3+ years of experience using version control systems such as Git and Subversion
  • Strong experience managing ASP.net environments with SQL Server and IIS
  • Ability to think creatively and invent new solutions to tough cutting-edge problems
  • Extensive experience with deployment automation methods and tools like Team City, Octopus, Chef and Jenkins
  • Extensive experience with WEB API & REST
  • Extensive experience in setting up enterprise infrastructure in an MS Azure environment
  • Extensive experience with test automation
  • Extensive experience leading high-performance engineering teams both on and offshore
  • Experienced in scripting tools include Python and PowerShell
  • Experienced using command line tools to manage cloud infrastructure
  • Extensive experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Powershell, Ruby, Python, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of CI tools, GitHub, Docker, and container orchestration tools and technologies
  • Experience with Apache, nginx, Tomcat, IIS, and varnish a plus
  • Experience managing MySQL and/or different SQL/Relational DB Servers
  • Experience managing SOLR and Mongo a plus
  • Experience building and administering LAMP, RoR, Java, and/or ASP.NET web application environments
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, as it relates to Terraform and Troposphere with AWS
  • Hands-on experience of modern software engineering processes
  • Hands-on experience of continuous delivery pipelines
  • Knowledge of Java and at least one other cloud native language
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication tailored to appropriate audiences
