The Business Unit IT Global Shared Services (GSS) organization is accountable for designing, developing and supporting commercial or customer engagement services and capabilities that span multiple Business Units, functions, geographies and digital channels. The areas supported by the Business Unit IT Global Shared Services includes: Global Customer Operations, Global Medical Affairs, Global PRA, Global Market Research, Global Patient Outcomes & Real World Evidence, Next Generation Customer Engagement, Enterprise HealthCare Provider Engagement as well as the regional Marketing Operations, Commercial Operations, Multichannel Customer Engagement Hubs and PRA organizations.

This role will collaborate with both the business partners and the commercial analytics architect to deliver the data lake and associated capabilities in support of the future state strategy under Global Shared Services BU IT including but not limited the following analytics layers: ingestion, integration, and consumption.
This position reports to the Manager IT Global Commercial Analytics within the Business Unit IT Global Shares Services organization.

Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Engage with the business and respective IT partners to proactively seek opportunities for IT to deliver business value through answering pertinent business questions
  • Understand business requirements and effectively translate business needs and process into technical terms, and vice versa.
  • Lead the definition and gathering of requirements and propose changes to existing services and capabilities within the GSS BU IT commercial analytics
  • Provides technical process subject matter expertise to technical resources that are delivering commercial analytic assets
  • Define and own the delivery of specific projects in response to next generation customer engagement and/or lifecycle management
  • Ensure appropriate business roles are engaged in solution design, development and deployment to allow for appropriate pull through into the business areas that will leverage the asset/service
  • Possess knowledge of regulatory, legal, or quality requirements (privacy, FDA, GxP, etc.) that will influence the design of the data integration patterns and assets needed by the business areas
  • Create and promote an understanding of how data is created and used within the existing integration system(s), including but not limited to a key Global Shared Services BU IT asset, Medical Integration Hub and Data Lake.
  • Create and promote an understanding of how data in MIH and the data lake is used across BU IT globally, including the technology components, data architecture and flows, timings, tools, and processes, ensuring we maximize the value of our data
  • Provide escalation support and guidance to data integration and visualization related projects
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years of experience within the data warehouse, Business Intelligence, and analytics space
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
  • Ability to facilitate effective meetings and elicit functional / non-functional requirements from business and IT stakeholders
  • Defining scope of future development and playing a lead role in design and implementation
  • Knowledge of our IT environment to be able to match business needs with available IT solutions.
  • Basic understanding of data architecture patterns and artifacts
  • Ability to analyze and develop IT best practices while influencing regulatory boundaries
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and changes simultaneously
  • Strong Team and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in a highly virtual, global organization
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally and work across various affiliates and regions
  • Ability to bring external focus into the projects including but not limited to understanding the industry trends through research, experience, and external peer relationships and preparing the team for the future
  • Ability to navigate issue resolution with vendors where necessary
  • Global project implementation experience
  • Ability to analyze and develop standard methodologies
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of solution delivery methodologies like Waterfall, Agile Scrum, Agile Feature-Driven Development.
  • Ability to analyze technical work and align it to appropriate development methodologies
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work across multiple teams and geographies
  • Knowledge and expertise of Sales & Marketing technologies
  • Prior experience working with sales, marketing, and managed healthcare data and supporting business processes in a healthcare environment
  • Strong self-management and ability to work in ambiguity
  • Hadoop, Oracle, and Informatica implementation experience
  • Deep understanding of popular Analytics tools and languages including OpenSource
  • Familiarity with full stack development in order to provide technical guidance and direction during implementations
