job summary:

Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Technical Data Analyst to join the Data Management and Delivery team within Shared Services Operations. This role will partner closely with other data analysts, BI developers, and business leaders to design and implement data models, database schemas, data structures, and processing logic to support various data science, analytics, machine learning, and BI workflows.

For this person to be successful, we are not only looking for a person that has experience and subject matter expertise, but also someone that is highly collaborative, innovative and versatile with the ability to effectively building strong partnerships. Position will be located Reno, NV or Tucson, AZ.

responsibilities:

- Handle data extractions from multiple data sources and analyze large volumes of data, parse data sets, and build custom data queries

- Ability to perform ETL relying on sound approaches to data handling and cleaning (missing values, automation, etc.); experience with ListCleaner, Data Pilot, Excel ADD, etc.

- Build custom data marts that consolidate data from multiple sources in support of advanced statistical work, including advanced regression analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning

- Communicate and collaborate as an essential member of the team

- Recommends/sets data standards to improve quality of data and speed to analytics, reporting and execution

- Develops data structures, pipelines, and/or data visualizations for rule analytics, reporting and execution

- Creates complex models and applications for acquisition, processing, and management of massive quantities of data using high-level programming languages

- Demonstrate strong implementation aptitude to translate objectives into a scalable solution supported with clear documentation

 
qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, Predictive Analytics, Statistics or similar field required. Master's degree preferred.

 
skills: - Ability to work across multiple projects with other team members in an Agile environment

- Experience with ListCleaner, Data Pilot, Excel ADD, etc.

- Demonstrated proficiency with automation/scripting tools including Python, Java Script, and Informatica

- 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining logical data models and data structures associated with relational and non-relational databases, data warehouses, and other data stores; experience with SQL, MySQL, Oracle, Vertica, Exadata, AWS preferred

- Experience with distributed processing of large data sets utilizing frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.

- Understanding of advanced statistical methodologies, including advanced regression analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning

- Experience with business intelligence software such as SAS, JMP/JMP Pro, Business Objects, Qlikview, Tableau, etc.

**Preferred location is Reno, can also work from Tucson.
