Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • The group incident response officer (GIRO) has been delegated authority to coordinate planning and execution of incident response activities, including participating with the Enterprise Incident Coordination Center (EICC).
  • This includes understanding the EICC process and requirements and if an incident occurs, representing and executing incident response activities within the EIT line of business as a member of EICC.
  • Act as primary liaison between Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) and the business group to include the EIT Group Business Continuity Implementation Officer (GBCIO), Group Operational Risk Officer (GORO), Group Risk Officer, the Technology Chief Operating Officer (TCOO) and other senior leaders.
  • Act as primary liaison between EIM and Availability Management, specifically in regards to the Data Center playbook, which links the processes of Availability Management, Incident Management, and other EIT groups. This position would own oversight and management of the data center playbook. Availability Management facilitates and document production issues which could affect enterprise availability or risk and reputation of the Wells Fargo brand.
  • Unify EIT line of business response to the EICC and facilitate seamless and efficient EIT escalation during EICC high severity incidents.
  • Consult with EIM for all life-safety issues within the business group and for all incidents that may require assessment by and activation of the EIM.
  • Assess the EIT impact of technology incidents. Coordinate and synchronize EIT and GBCIO incident communication, such as through email or automated alerts.
  • Observe and examine the risk environment during an incident and report resolution of outstanding risk issues.
  • Support and help identify workspace needs for EIT personnel if facilities are impacted.
  • Provide training for EIT team members included in EITs Incident Management Team process.
  • Develop and maintain distribution lists and training material.
  • Partners with the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) TOM to ensure incident management related controls are in place, issues identified and corrective actions opened when necessary.
  • Participates in ITSCM strategy, planning and coordination sessions.
  • May act as a SME in the creation and review of training activities for EIT personnel.
  • Performs related duties or special projects as assigned or requested.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for facilitating the relationship between the technology organization and large business unit client by managing and supporting the delivery of high profile technology products and services.
  • Acts as the single point of contact for the client and the appropriate technical groups from solution planning to sizing/estimating to fulfillment.
  • Influences technology selection by gathering and reviewing customer information, working with technology teams to determine if standard solution will work or if custom solution is necessary, and recommending the best option to the customer, including providing guidance on leveraging new technology.
  • Requests sizing estimates and reviews for reasonableness
  • Ensures service quality and cost-effectiveness of solutions
  • Monitors high profile projects to ensure requests are met on time and within sizing, keeping all parties informed of impacts and changes
  • Maintains regular contact with senior management within Technology and supported business unit
  • Conducts research and analysis of competitive market environment for innovative business products and services, regulatory/compliance issues, and implications of new implementations.
  • May provide leadership to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology delivery and relationship management experience with a client organization



Desired Qualifications

  • Relationship management experience delivering technology services between one or more internal technology organizations large internal lines of business
  • Risk and regulatory compliance experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and disaster recovery procedures/solutions
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Program and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years experience in a technology leadership role with proven ability to manage effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
  • 5-7 years leadership and/or management experience.
  • Strong background with risk and risk mitigation
  • Strong understanding of BC Resource Planning.
  • Demonstrated advanced negotiation and influence at senior level management level.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering strategic roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills to a variety of audiences from key stakeholders to executive management
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
