Wells Fargo Wholesale Technology is seeking a capable and motivated individual to be a member of the Wholesale Tax Technology team based in New York/New Jersey/Charlotte. We are seeking a tax technology professional with proven experience in system development, implementation and integration in Onboarding, Withholding, Data management and Reporting aspects of the domestic and international tax technology program. This position will execute technology implementation plan, extending existing technology solution or assist with implementing new technology, with a focus on efficiency and effective use of technology to streamline tax regulatory compliance and reporting.

The Tax System Engineer (TSE) will assist in understanding requirements, design, selection, and implementation of tax software for global and local purposes. The TSE will be responsible for configuring and integrating those choices through the entire business cycle for tax, including but not limited to Client onboarding, Tax Form Validation, Client tax information repository, Withholding rules engine, reporting and printing. The integration of client tax data with various components will be a critical part of the delivery to ensure effective operation of the Tax solution. The TSE will interface with a multidisciplinary team of tax technical and technology professionals who understand the spectrum of tax compliance as well as system development life cycle, technology infrastructure, information security and data privacy. A successful TSE will have Broad-based knowledge of tax system and focus on continuous process and solution improvement.

The position will be responsible for leading the analysis and documentation of holistic tax data needs across Wholesale and the lines of businesses. The position will solicit and document data requirements, partner with various lines of business to map source data and liase with Wholesale Data Services to implement the data feeds into the centralized Data Services platform. The position will work with the CoE tax pillars to solicit and document reporting, analytics and dashboard requirements, provide guidance on tool selection and work with the analytics teams to implement them. The position will require the ability to use querying tools/languages to extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets.



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 5+ years of data warehouse experience
  • 3+ years of Metadata experience
  • 10+ years of business systems analysis or design experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • 10+ years of relational database experience
  • 5+ years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to write clear concise requirements documents
  • Highly motivated and organized; excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with Tax onboarding, reporting and withholding systems/vendors
  • Strong technical implementation skills and working in a matrixed environment
  • Experience working with tax and accounting professionals
  • Process design and re-engineering experience Workflow design and implementation Experience with Tax technology related deliverables in big 4 consulting or financial industry a big plus
