PHI’s Cancer Registry of Greater California (CRGC) is seeking a detail oriented and data-focused IT professional to fill the role of Systems Support Manager. CRGC’s mission is to capture timely, high quality data from cancer patients and utilize this information for cancer research to improve health outcomes and reduce cancer morbidity and mortality. As a Systems Support Manager you will:

  • Provide management and oversight of CRGC Information Technology (IT) staff;
  • Be responsible for IT Security and IT Security systems;
  • Manage the IT budget in conjunction with the Research Program Administrator for the CRGC, including capacity planning, purchasing projections, and proposed staffing;
  • Coordinate IT work activities within the CRGC, and between the CRGC and other stakeholder organizations;
  • Draft, review, and update CRGC IT policies and procedures to meet contractual deliverables and stakeholder standards;
  • Review and update the CRGC Disaster Recovery Plan;
  • Be responsible for ensuring IT compliance related to the federal (SEER) and State (CDPH) contract;
  • Provide tier 2 and 3 level support of the Systems/Network/Desktops during normal operations and tier 1 level support when other IT staff are not available;
  • Perform and/or direct hardware preventive maintenance tasks, repairs of computer systems and peripheral equipment;
  • Perform and/or direct the installation of new software, software updates, software license compliance, and SSL certificate installation;
  • Perform and/or direct the support of cloud-based applications;
  • Provide IT-related training to CRGC staff, including IT security;
  • Participate in grant proposal writing where appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field or 4 years of related experience
  • 3 years of related experience (in addition to educational experience)
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies (Firewall, LAN, and WAN), physical security technologies (video and access control), and data security (VPN setup, data encryption, syslog translation, certification installation)
  • Knowledge of multiple operating system environments (Microsoft desktop/server and Linux), productivity software (email, word processing, spreadsheet, and database), and common IT technologies (relational databases, server virtualization, cloud computing)

 

Important Information:

  • This is a full time (40 hours/week) position based in Sacramento, CA
  • This jobs requires light travel to attend conferences, visit other registries, and visit stakeholder locations
