Job Description

This role will support the Retirement technology group within the application support team for the management of retirement products and services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing production support of those applications and meeting service level agreements. Represent Customer Channel Support team in Project Scrum meetings and Root Cause analysis sessions. Participate in application project implementations, maintenance and upgrades. Use sound judgement to make effective recommendations to management, line of business partners and peers. Will update and develop new documentation for departmental procedures. Be a mentor to junior team members in regards to proper procedures and technical concepts and be a back-up to manager.

An additional overview of responsibilities will provide technical systems support within a technology organization. Duties are varied and may include one or more of the following: provides support for highly complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, databases and/or other technical products and services; uses/creates diagnostic, simulation and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot and restore service or data to systems; evaluates service level agreement criteria, identifies gaps in current technology process and recommends changes to assure SLAs can be supported; performs migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations and/or configurations; may evaluate or review queries to extract data, or perform triage and provide suggestions to development team to fine tune systems supported; completes project sizing; updates/writes documentation and procedures and provides related training; troubleshoots network, hardware and software issues and coordinates resolution with users, vendors and internal service groups; writes/designs test scripts; creates change or issue logs; analyzes performance trends and recommends process improvements; assesses changes for risk to production systems and assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areas; updates, creates and tests the business continuation plan; may coordinate project resources and provide guidance to less experienced analysts.

The role will also be responsible for carrying an individual paging device and work periodic schedule on-call rotation (24x7).



Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of systems support analysis experience
  • 3+ years of SQL experience
  • 3+ years of Java experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of computer applications and testing process
  • Knowledge and understanding of implementation or project management
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: ticketing workflow systems, in a production environment
  • 3+ years of information technology experience
  • Employee benefits experience
  • Messaging Queue (MQ) experience
  • 3+ years of Sybase experience
  • Linux experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and diagnose application issues
  • Extensive experience with relational databases and/or reading stored procedures
  • Extensive experience with Sybase SQL writing complex queries
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environment, executing basic commands
  • Experience with any of the following technologies: SQR, Java
  • Experience with Production Support, on-call rotation and end user training
  • Understanding or experience with the following: SQR, HTML, Websphere Studio, Oracle, Visual Basic and Sybase
  • Experience with the Fusion work-flow application and other Contact Center supported processes
