Data center Management Group is seeking to hire a Data Center Engineer 3 (SSA 3) to be a key member of the Site team who would be responsible for supporting the daily operations needs of the Shoreview and NOC data centers.

This position will represent a shift lead responsibility for 1st Shift by providing oversight of Data center Access related events, Problem management/resolution to include performing senior level diagnosis of complex issues and optimization efforts. Lack of these abilities could result in unauthorized access and extended outages, negative impact to the critical environment and financial loss to Wells Fargo. The candidate must be able to collaborate on optimization and utilization of dc space, power & cabling. Coordinates implementation of moves/adds/changes. Participate in remediation of existing legacy data center space.

Provide leadership overview of specific shift activities as well as providing guidance to lower level team members. Enforce operational procedures and standards. Oversees all scheduled daily team duties and activities to ensure coverage during shift. Create new processes and revise existing processes and suggest updates as necessary. Coordinate work flow and completion status per shift. Train all team members on new processes and ensure new processes are followed. Ensure QA is being performed on all daily activities. Provide this shift turnover to all Team Members and Site Management. During Severity One problem calls, be the main point of contact and coordinate the recovery and communicate to Senior Leadership all actions.

Assists site manager regarding daily data center check point calls by preparing the data used to track daily workloads. This person leverages tools such as Pac2000 and STSP as well as keeping in sync with our capacity planner to establish our daily deliverables for the sites daily operational meetings. Assist in maintaining of data center access policies thru authentication and scrutinizing access requests such as trouble tickets, work orders and change requests. Provides guidance to security on resolution of problems around entry into the DC. Provides daily direction and workload distribution to less senior staff. Effectively partner with Corporate Properties to forecast growth and load rates within the raised floor space. Recommending site specific direction regarding space and power allocation.

Educate vendors and companion / partnering organizations with DCM's Critical Facilities Education Documentation as well as covering raised floor policies and procedures such as media management / control, hard drive removal / destruction and existing access policy.

Possess complete understanding of Data Center Operational procedures to include technical expertise regarding data center infrastructure including space, power, device placement and cooling impact. Assign implementation tasks to team members and provide coaching/mentoring to junior team members.

This position can only be filled from the posted location.

This position will work Weekend Days 1st Shift Friday-Sunday (8:00am-8:00pm) with 4 hours on Monday (8:00am-12:00pm), though scheduled working hours are subject to change based upon business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of systems support analysis experience
  • 3+ years of data center experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of data center: network designs
  • Knowledge and understanding of data center: critical facilities systems: electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems

Job Expectations

  • Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
