Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join the ESQA Enterprise Information Technology QA(Capital Markets) team. This QA test lead position will facilitate the successful testing and implementation of new and existing applications. This key role will provide the necessary testing oversight for releases on these projects.

Responsibilities of this Quality Assurance Analyst 4 position may include:

  • Provide QA testing for Fixed Income Trading Applications in addition to real-time Risk products (Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, Corporate Bonds, Agency Bonds) application. Ability to analyze and trade information, market data, analytics and risk calculation (market Risk), price valuation from various ECNs (Electronic Connecting Network- Bloomberg, Trade Web, etc) is a must. Business line coverage includes fixed income bonds, Bond Spreads and Interest Rate Derivatives.
  • Oversight for all test planning, processes and activities for all phases of testing, and is the primary focal point for all testing for the project.
  • Plans and directs quality assurance schedules and assignments, and monitors project status in comparison to cost/time projections
  • Expected to determine (and/or communicate) the testing policies and procedures and guides development to facilitate testing
  • Ensures all of the necessary resources are identified, assigned, and trained on the testing process and tools
  • Works with project team to obtain agreement on what, how and when testing will be performed
  • Creates comprehensive Master Test Plan and Testing Methodology Test Plan documents to ensure all phases of testing (testing approach/strategy) are planned and executed in a timely manner (Waterfall, Agile)
  • Establishes test objectives and target dates for all phases, and includes master test schedule showing pre-requisites and interdependencies among phases and components
  • Plans and directs QA schedules and assignments and monitors project status to cost/time projections
  • Ensures that testing is performed as planned and on schedule, controlling changes, and coordinates with applications managers to ensure timely introduction of corrections
  • Facilitates all testing meetings related to the project
  • Maintains daily / cycle test performance records, tracks problems, and provides test and project team with feedback to assist them in prioritizing fixes and prevent future errors
  • Ensures Test Data is identified and developed; ensures that detailed Test Plans, specifications and scripts are developed and approved prior to start of testing
  • Provides leadership and direction to off-shore based resources for Test Case development and execution and any other testing activities for assigned projects
  • Requires being able to work late evenings and/or early morning hours with the offshore team to include facilitation of meetings and assisting with test troubleshooting
  • Records test results, test data, review logs, etc.; certifies the test performed; and defines what has not been tested to ensure that test acceptance criteria have been met and any exceptions and/or workarounds are approved by the appropriate stakeholders.

Responsible for handling the most complex quality assurance and assesses problems and issues to ensure activities follow the necessary internal and external regulatory and E-Trading Controls Policies. Regularly contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards. The Electronic Trading Platform is an architecture that consists of multiple external/internal applications designed to facilitate the successful execution of Fixed Income, and Interest Rate Derivatives financial Products. Candidate should possess the responsibility of testing very complex in-house developed Electronic Trading Applications that interact with Market ECN applications such as Bloomberg, Market Axcess, Bonddesk, etc). Candidate must be able to testing end to end within a vertical / horizontal technical structure in addition to downstream real-time Risk application that supports Capital Market Products (Fixed Income and Interest Rate Derivatives). Candidate must have very good SQL skill set and be able to analyst Reference Data as it pertains to upstream and downstream applications.

This role will require the ability to troubleshoot, analyze and test electronic trade information and reference data information that derive from algorithmic data elements such as market data, market analytics, risk calculations, and price valuations that stem from various ECNs. Candidate should be able to understand the multiple business lines which include fixed income bonds, Bond Spreads, Derivative Spreads, and interest rate derivatives.

Candidate will need to work closely with development teams to understand changes to the architecture that may produce bug fixes and enhancements to the Electronic Trading services. Successful execution of the role will require strict attention to detail around environment configuration for the regression tests, involving multiple envs and teams.

Candidate must develop effective test plans through consultation with clients and development team members (without formal Business Requirement Docs), maintain/upgrade/run the regression test cases, and document the process for Production support.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of testing or quality assurance experience
  • 7+ years of SQL experience
  • 5 + years of experience supporting electronic trading (etrading) platforms
  • 5+ years of information technology quality assurance and systems/application testing experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of system testing including: creating plans, cases, procedures, scripts, and identifying expected results
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: test planning and executing in systems such as: Test Tool, Quality Center, or ClearQuest
  • Test planning and executing experience in systems such as: Test Tool, Quality Center, or ClearQuest
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of creating test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, and expected results
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 2 + years of experience in Interest Rate Electronic Trading Testing within multiple ECNs and know Tier Pricing methodology in detail.
  • 5 + years of experience with analyzing reference data.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Quality Assurance (QA) analysis in the financial services industry(Capital Market Specific)
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills

  • Ability to communicate confidentially and professionally
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Experience performing quality assurance audits.
  • Strong working Knowledge of Automation Frameworks (Server (Linux/Unix/Python)) and Client (UFT/ALM ).
  • Able to work along with Capital Market hours. On occasion be able to work IST hours based on demand and coordination with team members in Offshore.
