Job Title: Systems Integration Engineer - Tanium


Job Overview:


The ideal candidate will understand that this is an operational position and support to the organization can range from 7am - 7pm, should an unusual situation present itself the candidate will be expected to assist as needed outside normal business hours. The position calls for a strategic individual who understands business operations, information technology and security and will utilize that knowledge to assist with the implementation of an effective security campaign that ensures the overall security position is aligned with business needs and the evolving threat landscape. The cyber security landscape has changed dramatically over the past few years with a record number of incidents and threats being reported. Attackers are rapidly becoming more sophisticated and threats are originating from all directions. The Systems Integration Engineer will provide research and analysis on the latest cyber threat. The Security Integration Engineer will respond and drive mitigation by collaborating with internal stakeholder to define requirements.


Roles and Responsibilities Overview:


- Understand and identify new vulnerabilities and attack vectors to actively locate threats.


- Be deliberate and demonstrate sound judgment for balancing between rapid development and long-term maintainability and supportability.


- Continuous improvement of the Endpoint platform and deliver the on-going needs of internal customers.


- Engage with other technology teams to ensure the platform is fit for purpose, cost effective, and adheres to the engineering standards and communication policies in place.


- Represent the engineering team on governance and review boards.


- Deliver results within given time frames, ensuring work is consistent, well documented, and in-line with team standards at all times.


- Act as escalation point of L3 support teams and provide occasional weekend or evening support during major maintenance, upgrades, and repairs, as well as providing expert guidance during P2/P1/P0) incidents.


- Maintain technical knowledge within areas of expertise.


- Stay current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education.


Requirements:


Technical Experience:


- 3+ years of experience working in an information security or IT operations related field in an enterprise environment


- 2+ years in software development role


- Proven working experience in building and maintaining security systems


- Understanding of Security Information Event Management, Behavior Analytics, and an overall understanding of data correlation and entity relationships.


- Understanding of cyber security threats, risks, vulnerabilities and attacks, to include threat actor motives, capabilities, and techniques, with the ability to analyze intelligence data and provide indicators and warnings to financial services business functions.


- Experience correlating and analyzing large diverse data sources.


- Propensity to learn new products and roles within industry standards and support related deployments in primary and secondary (backup) roles.


Non-Technical Experience:


- Experience designing and building software in an agile environment preferred


- Proven leadership skills including: effective oral and written communication, performance management, issue resolution, negotiation, motivating others, forecasting and planning.


- Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.


- Experience with providing engineering and administrative support in a large Microsoft Windows based enterprise.


- Ability to collect, process, and analyze data and information to create threat intelligence indicators.


Education and Certifications:


Desired Education:


- Degree from a four-year university or major course work in computer science, networking, engineering or other computer-related field of study.


Desired Certifications:


- Security+, CASP, GIAC, CISSP


- Experience with BigFix, Tanium, Splunk, Archer, and Tenable platforms
