job summary:


The Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering services on the ERAM program, which includes Data Comm. The Systems Engineer will support analysis of customer problem reports (and enhancement requests), and work directly with FAA customers to ensure a valid understanding of the problem (or requested enhancement) and need. The Systems Engineer will develop technical solutions, prepare trade studies when required, decompose the solution into system-level and software requirements, and author white papers that document the above. The Systems Engineer will also provide sustaining engineering to the Software, and Integration & Test teams in the proper behavior and verification of the documented solutions. The Systems Engineer will support the ERAM/Data Comm program in the domain of Air Traffic specific applications, especially in the area of Data Communications processing, which allows the ability for specially equipped aircraft to exchange a limited set of text messages with controllers and ground towers. Support will include requirements development (A-Level and B-Level), systems design, system interface definitions, sustaining engineering support through a product's lifecycle, technical manual updates, change request generation, change request Verification, and inspection support. Systems Engineers will work on researching, designing, prototyping and documenting specifications for the program in the domain of AT-specific applications, especially in the area of display services, flight data processing, system operations and support systems.

At a minimum, the System Engineering personnel shall have the following skill/experience level:

a) Approximately 5-10 years of systems engineering experience including requirements development (A-Level and B-Level), systems design, system interface definitions, and sustaining engineering support through a product's lifecycle


b) Strong communication and writing skills and the ability to interface with the customer

c) Ability to interface with other functional areas to ensure complete understanding of the requirements for complete and accurate implementation

d) Ability to assess system changes and determine system impacts

skills: e) A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college

f) Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Additionally, the following skills/experiences are preferred:

a) FAA Air Traffic domain knowledge

b) Knowledge of the ERAM system and software architecture

c) Experience with Leidos Civil system engineering processes

d) Experience with Civil system engineering process toolset, including Experience with the Dynamic Oriented Requirements System (DOORs), the program's requirements management tool, and Artisan for data modelling In addition, the skill/experience requirements associated with each
