Your Role and Responsibilities
The Windows Systems Administrator is responsible to maintain and support for the Microsoft Windows environment. The sysadmin will serve as a technical specialist in the area of Windows administration and monitoring on the day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions:

- Support the day-to-day operations of customers production and staging environments by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. Applies revisions to host system firmware and software, etc.
- Implement new system and applications, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
- Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
- Installs, modifies and maintains systems and utility software on server computer systems. Provides server support related to other software.
- Diagnosis hardware and software problems and recommends solutions and performs necessary system repairs.
- Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical environments and staging environments.
- Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.
- Supports our IBM Core Values and cultivates a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Collaborate with IT staff in planning and project management as they relate to the system and server environment to ensure timely completion and delivery of IT services and solutions
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
3-5 years of work experience in complex systems design implementation and support.
- Experienced System administration who has 3+ years of system administration with Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016 operating systems.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and Group Policy.
- Experience in maintaining server environments including security patches, firmware upgrades, hot fixes, service packs, intermediate versions / full version upgrades.
- Establish and maintain documented procedures for system and service administration
- Language: English (French or German is a plus)


Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
- Microsoft Clustering technology Windows 2008, and 2012 platforms.
- Practical knowledge of MS SCOM/SCCM.
- Experience in server and desktop virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Citrix XenApp Server and XenDesktop preferred.
- Scripting experience with Powershell is preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good sense of urgency priority and stress resistant
- Strong communication skills, analytical ability, judgment and the ability to work effectively with other systems technical staff, internal business customers, and external consultants and vendors.
