job summary:

Our client is currently seeking a System Administrator for a 1-3 month contract to hire opportunity located in Folsom, CA.

Summary/Objective

IT and Security Engineer will lead and manage both strategic and tactical operations of the IT infrastructure support and information security. The goal is to ensure the agreed-upon levels of service to our users.

Essential Functions

  • Manage our cloud-based infrastructure, local data center operation, telecom, LAN, WAN, and wireless network services
  • Manage and monitor IT environments including anti-virus, patching, DLP, and other activities that will maintain the integrity, security, and uptime requirements for the company
  • Oversee company-wide backup and Disaster Recovery including planning and testing
  • Hands-on capabilities and experience across of infrastructure and information security
  • Manage and Administer O365 subscription
  • Develop expertise and train staff on new technologies
  • Review and correlate application, network, and security logs

  • Proven experience working in high demand work environments
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of audience types using different mechanisms including informal updates, formal presentations, business case documents, and other analytical and technical documents to technical or non-technical users
  • Ability to perform duties in a punctual, efficient, and time-sensitive manner with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Must have project management and leadership skills with strong sense of ownership and urgency
  • Must be able to apply creative and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated strong logical and complex technical problem-solving skills for the following areas:

    • HyperV admin
    • O365 admin
    • DLP solution
    • MDM solution (Intune preferred)
    • Windows Server hardening and admin
    • Active Directory/Group Policy admin
    • Powershell scripting
    • Log Management (SIEM)
    • VLAN, VPN, QoS, firewall/WAP configurations, DHCP, DNS
    • Encryption, bitlocker, and key management
    • Vulnerability scan and penetration testing
    • Email Phishing techniques
    • Intrusion Detection Systems
    • Security policies, standards, and protocols
    • DR/BC
    • SOX Audit
    • PCI Audit
    • SAN
    • Azure admin
  • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are variable and based on business need. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field OR equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience working in IT
