Randstad Technologies is seeking two highly-skilled developers to join our support team for long-term Contract/Contract-to-Hire positions here in the metro-Atlanta area.

About the role:


Your role will involve logging and keeping records of customer/employee queries, analyzing call logs so you can spot common trends and underlying problems. You will update self-help documents so customers/employees can try to fix problems themselves.


As part of a production support team, you will be providing 24x7x365 on-call support for multiple core platforms globally. You will be required to work across different shifts, 7 - 3, 9 - 5, 11 - 7 covering 7am - 7pm. These hours will be rotated between the team. The team also provides a weekend on call service which will also be rotated between the team.


Using a "Follow the Sun" model we expect working patterns will include on call duty, weekend and holiday season cover. Candidates will be required at times to vary operating hours to ensure coverage for severity level support Full details of exact working patterns will be provided. Most importantly, as businesses cannot afford to be without production system online for more than the minimum time taken to repair or replace them, your technical support is vital to the ongoing operational efficiency of the company.


The Ideal Candidate


As an Implementation engineer you may be called upon to work on core platforms and the implementation of them throughout our global client-base.


This may include general application development activities, (unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation) support activities (ticket assignment, bug fix, defect tracking, follow up, etc.) and ideally you will have with the following:


Core Java development, Linux scripting, RESTful services, Spring, and working knowledge of at least one database technology like Oracle, NoSQL, Cassandra, hadoop, etc.


Practically speaking, you should be able to analyze a problem and choose the best solution in-line with enterprise standards and in adhering to global platform architecture. Tracking of issues through completion, documentation enhancement and reporting thereafter.


As the roll evolves you will contribute to training and self-service support options (blog, forum, internal confluence as needed), helping to maintain reference implementation of enterprise software stack.


You will have knowledge of modern software development lifecycles including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Part of this role will require you to have steep, up to date, technical knowledge of mid-range technologies, performing complex bug verification, and beta support for assigned products


Requirement


We would like to talk to you if you have completed a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or computer science and have been in a Development and/or Product Support role for at least 3 - 5 years.


You will have excellent analytical, research and implementation skills. Experience in carrying out the requirements, design, development, testing implementation and support phases of applications software project


Amazing interaction and communication skills since you will be one of the faces representing our organization to our clients.


Key Responsibilities



  • Working with internal customers/employees to identify platform problems and advising on the solution
  • Design, deployment, implementation and execution patterns for support of internal customers globally.
  • Handle and resolve requests for core platforms and activities directly and /or with support from teams within CIS and Level 4 partners.
  • Logging and keeping records of customer/employee queries
  • Analyzing call logs so you can spot common trends and underlying problems
  • Updating self-help documents so customers/employees can try to fix problems themselves
  • Working with field engineers to visit customers/employees if the problem is more serious
  • Establish good working principals for how to address concerns quickly and effectively.
  • As an engineer you may be called upon to work on core platforms and/or its implementation to ensure up to date skills and proficiency on platforms. This may include general application development activities, including unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation.
  • Be able to analyze a problem and choose the best solution in-line with enterprise standards and in adhering to global platform architecture. Tracking of issues through completion, documentation enhancement and reporting
  • Contribute to training and self-service support options (blog, forum, internal confluence as needed)
  • Help maintain reference implementation of enterprise software stack.
  • Keep technical skills and knowledge of Client enterprise technology platforms and service offerings current by closely working with core engineers
  • Detailed knowledge of standards based architectures as they apply across multiple IT platforms.
  • Deep, up to date, technical knowledge of mid-range technologies.
  • Modern software development lifecycles including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Perform complex bug verification, and beta support for assigned products


Professional Competencies



  • Ability to operate across a broad and complex business unit with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly develop excellent working relationships with internal technology leads.
  • Bilingual in English required and either Spanish or French would be desirable.
  • Soft-Skills: Must be highly effective at soliciting information regarding issues remotely with and without video / screen conference tools.
  • Ability to remotely solicit information about a particular issue from phone, video conference or other method and effectively communicate feedback, results, etc


Experience Requirements



  • Experience with Linux operating systems and scripting.
  • Hands on experience with Java application development. (Spring, REST services, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and experience with at least one Database technology (RDBMS Oracle, NoSQL, Cassandra, etc.)
  • Experience with change management, risk management, governance and portfolio management.
