Description


The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for hands on implementation and managing the continuous improvement of company's Windows Server, Domains, Identity Management, Authorization & Authentication products & services in a DevOps environment. This role provides work direction and mentoring for other Systems Engineering team members by modeling engineering best practices to streamline delivery of Windows Server platforms and Active Directory capabilities. Senior System Engineers will collaborate closely with technology architects, developers, and business leads to ensure friction-less delivery of strategic solutions for the enterprise.


Major Areas of Accountability:



  • Collaborate with other engineers and architects to create and manage Windows Server, Active Directory & SCCM technologies and automated processes that enable frictionless delivery of these core capabilities.
  • Understands how to build and manage complex systems
  • Create automated systems and frameworks that enable the seamless delivery of Windows Compute, Images, Identity, Authorization & Authentication Services with Ansible, Git, Powershell and/or similar technologies
  • Leads the creation of visual measurements to facilitate continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead engineering of core infrastructure APIs to enable self-service delivery.
  • Expert in applying engineering and software development best practices to streamline product/service delivery
  • Deliver consistent, rapid, scalable, innovative and quality products that meet the business needs
  • Clearly communicates at all levels of the organization; drives the development of delivery best practices and works closely with end-users to facilitate best practices


Qualifications


Education


Required



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering or a combination of equivalent education and experience


Preferred:



  • Master's degree in a related field


Experience Required:



  • 7+ years of technical experience managing the design, creation, delivery and operations of Windows Server & Active Directory systems across 1000's of compute instances & users across multiple geographic locations
  • Expert in applying software engineering best practices to automate the delivery of engineering products with tools such as Powershell, Git, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps practices such as source code management, CI/CD & cross functional partnership
  • Experience with Windows Server, SCCM, Active Directory & Linux management
  • Fluent in at least two programming/scripting languages
  • Experience with configuration management, service discovery & immutable infrastructure
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with performance testing complex systems & providing customer facing visualizations
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language to all levels of management and staff
  • Experience presenting ideas at industry conferences preferred
