Risk and Finance CIO organization provides technology to several lines of businesses including Risk, Compliance, Finance, Audit and Legal with a combined technology spend in excess of $500+MM annually and is a 1100+ person global organization.

Corporate Model Risk Technology supports Model Inventory, Governance and Validation for all Models developed within Wells Fargo to adhere to the regulatory requirements. CMRT is part of Enterprise Business Technology team within Wells Fargos Enterprise Information Technology Division.

This position directly manages the team responsible for development and support of the Model Risk Technologies and applications. Technologies used are suite of state-of-the-art Quants tools which include tools like Python, R, Tensorflow, H2O etc. to implement Quants algorithms like Gradient Boosting (various implementations), Random Forest, and Neural Networks (Deep Learning NNs involving recurrent, convolutional, and LSTMs needed for modeling time series and dynamic processes).

The entire combined team consists of approximately 20+ resources, onshore and offshore, made up of both team members and contractors (number of contractors will vary with number of projects being worked). The Team works closely with the Corporate Model Risk team to ensure that the corporation meets its regulatory and compliance timelines.Work closely with peer managers in Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Model Risk and Risk COEs.

This is a senior Web Developer position who will work with other technical staff to manage and support our applications/technologies. Specifically, this position will involve in the following activities:

  • Acts as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs.
  • Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
  • Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code.
  • Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.
  • Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
  • Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production.
  • Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides.
  • Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff.
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.
  • VIPER web interface development and be able to work independently to develop appropriate solutions, taking into consideration the diverse integration points with other application services and interfaces.
  • Interface with model developers and validators to support activities in loss forecasting, credit risk scorecard, risk segmentation, capital management, and stress testing for a variety of lending products.
  • Database management, advanced computing and statistical methodology development to advance the Banks practice in the area of model development, validation, benchmarking and monitoring.
  • Partnering with Enterprise Modelling and Validation team
  • Quant. modelling and calculation approach
  • Support the business in the CCAR stress testing and establish a technology roadmap to support the operationalization of modelling platforms.
  • CMoR Compute Platform administration and support

    Required Qualifications
