Summary of Job :


The Sr. PCB Designer will be responsible for the schematic, layout, and all other documentation associated with printed circuit boards. These PCB designs are for RF, Control, and power supplies in semiconductor equipment. The candidate will be working with a team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Embedded Engineers in an office/lab environment.




Reporting Relationship :


Reports to Sr. Director of Engineering


Essential Functions :



  • Enters new schematic designs into ORCAD
  • Creates PCB layouts in Cadence PCB EDITOR
  • Creates new designs or modifies existing designs
  • Set up and maintain library of components
  • Create new components for custom library
  • Clean up documentation on legacy PCBs
  • Process ECOs and deviations for PCBs
  • Mentor Jr. PCB designers
  • Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers while designing PCBs
  • Work with PCB fabrication vendors or contract manufacturers to answer questions on PCB designs
  • Candidate must live within a 1 hour commute of the office from which they will be working. Candidates outside this distance must be willing to relocate prior to commencing employment.

Job Requirements :



Technical Skills / Knowledge:



  • Must be fluent in ORCAD Schematic Capture
  • Must be fluent in Cadence PCB Editor
  • Must have experience with PCB layout for high power radio frequency and switching power supply designs
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be intimately familiar with IPC standards
  • Minimum 10-year experience performing the essential job functions above
  • Close attention to detail is a must
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is a must



Preferred but not required experience



  • Experience with Altium schematic capture and layout
  • PCB design for semiconductor equipment

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work with minimal supervision and achieve results.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

Customary Education and Experience:



  • Associates degree minimum. BS Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 10+years of experience
