Summary of Job :


The Sr. Engineering Technician will apply electrical theory and related knowledge to build, test and modify electrical power systems under development. Work will also involve trouble shooting and modifying existing power systems. These power systems are typically used in industrial applications, such as semiconductor manufacturing. The candidate will be working with a team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Embedded Engineers in an office/lab environment.




Reporting Relationship :


Reports to Sr. Director of Engineering


Essential Functions :



  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after prototype build.
  • Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
  • Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical test fixtures and printed circuit boards.
  • Analyze and interpret test results to resolve design-related problems.
  • Draw or modify diagrams/schematics and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of prototype units.
  • Review existing diagrams/schematics/build-of-materials to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
  • Plan method and sequence of operations for developing and testing experimental electronic and electrical equipment.

Job Requirements :



Technical Skills / Knowledge:



  • Must have experience with Oscilloscope, Volt Meter, Power Supplies.
  • Must be comfortable working with high voltage AC/RF and DC.
  • Minimum 10-year experience performing the essential job functions above.
  • Close attention to detail is a must.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is a must.



Preferred but not required experience



  • MIL certified soldering
  • IPC certification.
  • Working knowledge of RF and DC power systems and RF Matching Networks.
  • Experience working with Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Power Meters, etc.
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW programming.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with many different types of people in different organizations throughout the company



Customary Education and Experience:



  • Associates degree minimum. BS Degree in Electrical Engineering a plus.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 10+years of experience



Other



  • Candidate must live within a 1 hour commute of the office from which they will be working. Candidates outside this distance must be willing to relocate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Other duties as assigned.
