Job Description

Wells Fargo is hiring for a Senior Technology Leader to join our Enterprise Information Technology Team for our Data Blueprint (APP As a Service) team within the Enterprise Core Services Technology organization. The Primary location for this role will be Charlotte, NC; Other location will be San Francisco, CA

The selected candidate will manage and lead a technology team with responsibility of developing the strategy and implementation of an Authorized Provisioning Point Platform as a service supporting numerous lines of business within the enterprise. Qualified candidates should themselves be experts in the following areas (ETL, Databases, systems architecture) with strong fundamentals in MVC and object-oriented programing. It is expected that the candidate be able to provide leadership through mentorship of managers/team leads. They will also have the ability to work with multiple project managers and provide project leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Regular interaction with senior management.
  • Management of team leads and/or direct report managers.
  • Provides strategic technical direction for Safety & Soundness initiatives across accounting platforms.
  • Leads a team through technical analysis, design, construction and deployment of highly complex / scalable application projects.
  • Provides technical leadership on the development and implementation of highly complex, large-scale data applications on diverse platforms (Oracle, Hadoop platforms), crossing multiple business lines.
  • Interface/interact with various technology teams - Enterprise data lake, EDG, security - to ensure all integrations are implemented and follow the enterprise standards.
  • Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
  • Provides design and coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code.
  • Recruits and trains talented development resources.
  • Oversees overall Systems Integration Testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production.
  • Develops design documentation, departmental technical guidelines, checklists, software engineering best practices and How-to guides for developers.
  • Leads projects, plans, allocates and manages project resources and manages deliverables of less experienced staff.
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees project and release rollout to production.
  • Evaluates systems specifications, participates in continuous tuning of the platform for optimal performance and scalability, determines and implements the most efficient and cost-effective software/package solution.


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology experience
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience, in an IT environment
  • 2+ years of Big Data experience
  • 2+ years of Hadoop experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • 5+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years experience with building data warehouse, datamart or operational datastore systems; experience with

    database design, data modeling, dimension modeling concepts, ETL, data development, data integration, data

    distribution, data quality and analytics

  • 5+ years expert level knowledge of development using ETL tools (AbInitio, Informatica etc., )
  • Experience in MapR distribution platform
  • Experience with leading and managing vendor development teams delivering project based scope of work.
  • Ability to define technical direction of the Team within Enterprise Architectural guidelines and execute delivery

    within those constraints.

  • Experience with both Agile and more traditional SDLC approaches with willingness to support either approach as

    directed by the project at hand.

  • Experienced in continuous integration tools and methodologies
  • Prior experience with application profiling and performance tuning of highly scalable and available systems
  • Experience in managing ETL & Database platform
  • Strong knowledge of how to monitor applications to ensure 24x7 uptime
  • Experience in monitoring end-to-end operational platform support and efficiently deliver organic growth and

    technology refresh services

  • Proven ability to communicate with business and technical groups easily, ability to communicate with various levels of

    management

  • Strong experience using the Wells Fargo development ecosystem of applications (JIRA, ALM, GitHub, uDeploy,

    Jenkins, Artifactory, Anthil, eclipse, etc)

  • Practical experience in the application management ecosystem of applications (TRIMS, LDRPS, WAM, PAC2000,

    SD Elements, Everbridge, etc)

  • Demonstrate previous experience with estimating and sizing enhancements and new large complex projects



Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
