Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Research Lab in Dublin, Ireland is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our data privacy research team. As a member of our team you will are expected to contribute to original research and to translate complex ideas into working software. We expect candidates to be motivated by a curiosity for discovery, a passion for delivery and to be confident working in an environment where no current technology exists. Our ambition for impact is global and you will work with IBM Labs, Product Teams and Clients around the world based in our Dublin Lab. If you are excited by the opportunity to be part of the next generation of data privacy technologies and have at least the following qualifications we are waiting to hear from you.

Experience

  • At least an MSc, or equivalent degree, in a relevant area (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, )
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and delivering enterprise software projects
  • Track record of graduating high-level research into viable technical solutions

Research

  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods;
  • An understanding of the operational requirements for a successful research project;
  • A demonstrated commitment to research and publications;
  • Strong interest in seeing their research delivered through to impact

Project management

  • Evidence of delivering multi-person research projects in an inter-disciplinary working environment;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation etc.);
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills including a proven ability to work to deadlines.
