Social Media Coordinator

About the Position

The Social Media Coordinator will curate, create, and monitor social media content and moderate discussions across the Credit Union's social media channels. This individual will work closely with members of the Marketing team to identify appropriate and timely content for the Credit Union's five social media platforms and increase channel growth through visitor and follower engagement.

Normal Day-to-Day Work
  1. Write, review and edit engaging and relevant social media content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and other social media platforms.
  2. Ensure appropriate cross-messaging is executed to support organizational goals through our social media channels.
  3. Moderate social platforms to encourage conversation, remove spam content and respond to visitor inquiries.
  4. Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders from across the organization to develop social media messaging and monthly plans that align with the goals, mission and reputation, and to increase the number of followers and engagement.
  5. Analyze and provides monthly reports on social media engagement metrics, such as new user growth, followers, likes, comments and shares.
  6. Make recommendations on the content, designs or campaigns to improve effectiveness of social media channels.
  7. Monitor other social media channels/groups, trends, tools and applications; recommends actions and next steps.
  8. Respond to member concerns as needed and informs management of member-identified issues that require compliance intervention.
  9. Work with Marketing Department to identify trends that may provide insight into member behavior and needs for future social media promotions.


Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position:

  1. 1 - 3 years' experience developing, curating and analyzing social media content.
  2. Thorough understanding of communicating in and analyzing social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Wikis, and more.
  3. Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  5. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  6. Travel required on occasion.


Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE you to have to make you more suited for this position.
  1. Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
  2. Experience working in a financial services-related environment.
  3. Proven copywriting experience with a financial institution or advertising agency.
  4. Experience in digital marketing.
