Position Summary


The ServiceNow System Administrator is responsible for leading, designing, developing, and delivering distributed solutions using a service oriented approach for anything ServiceNow related within the company. This position will be the company's subject matter expert for all items related to the ServiceNow system and its capabilities. Additionally, this position will detail service management processes and provide reports to management. This position requires technical proficiency and accountability, high interface rates, and direct reporting to both end users and senior IT functions.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Lead develop and optimize processes for IT Service Management following the established ITIL framework to ensure that IT Services are focused on aligning IT services with the needs of the business
  • Create ITSM governance standards and ensure that all changes to reporting, processes and procedures are reflected, appropriately followed, documented and that consistency is maintained
  • Liaise between both the technical and non-technical stakeholders at the organization in order to meet the needs of each
  • Develop dashboard metrics and key performance indicators of information technology services
  • Manage execution of processes related to Problem Management, Service Improvement, and Reporting tool improvement
  • Prepare periodic presentations or reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing performance data and trends, corrective actions, and service delivery improvements
  • Work with IT Service Owners and Stakeholders to review performance trends and validate service management best practices are enforced
  • Provide expertise in the use and evaluation of ITSM software solutions
  • Give guidance and analysis on current tools and potential future enhancements that may help the company
  • Keep up to date on ServiceNow versions and releases, ensuring that new features are incorporated and enabled where possible and fit
  • Design and develop custom applications and add-ons as needed by the business
  • Install, operate, and support global IT infrastructure
  • Provide proactive monitoring assistance for IT infrastructure mechanisms, problems, and requirements
  • Ensure efficiency and growth are not hindered by IT malfunctions, issues, or compliance problems
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Work on special assignments as they arise
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule and incident management resolution


Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications



  • Ability to develop, maintain and enhance custom-built applications on the ServiceNow platform
  • Experience with service management techniques and tools and issue tracking/ticket/project/workflow software such as ServiceNow
  • Experience with configuration management, maintenance, and an understanding of ITIL principles and Agile practices
  • Experience with internet protocols and network technologies
  • Ability to work with database management systems software
  • Complete working knowledge of Windows, Macs, Linux and mobile devices
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Java and .NET
  • Competency in PC applications such as Office, Visio, Project, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems


Education and Experience



  • Experience developing ServiceNow software solutions using web technologies like JavaScript, Web Services, XML, HTML and CSS
  • 4+ years' of ServiceNow Development experience with the entire ServiceNow toolset and integrations with related systems
  • ServiceNow Application Developer Certifications preferred
  • ITIL Certification preferred
  • High school diploma is required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in technical background, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field is preferred
