Randstad Technologies is seeking a Service Desk Technician with experience supporting non-technical end users in a corporate setting. This is a contract to hire position in the Raleigh Durham area.


Summary


The successful candidate will assist end users with help requests using personal knowledge and by referencing a database of previously resolved issues. They will escalate advanced requests to the appropriate department member based on priority, current ticket assignment and other predetermined criteria. The will also assist IT management with special technology projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Answer incoming IT support telephone calls and emails.


Assist end users by resolving their issues in person or via remote support tools.


Documents help tickets and solutions in IT ticket management software.


Maintains and updates department calendar, contacts, and files.


Maintains and installs computer workstations.


Configures and maintains telephones and mobile devices.


Maintains and services automated warehouse equipment.


Maintains and services printers.


Coordinates service requests with third party technical support when necessary.


Other duties as assigned by IT management.


Record incidents and resolutions in an IT ticket management system.


Report to IT management in the form of summaries and reports.


Required Qualifications and Experience


Bachelor's degree.


Fluency in English language.


Basic knowledge of computer system construction and maintenance.


Experience in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.


Types a minimum of 60 WPM.


Must have a valid NC Driver's License.


Must be able to troubleshoot basic technical problems and deduce an appropriate resolution using knowledge and research.


Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Must have a high attention to detail, well organized and punctual.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills


A+ and/or a Microsoft based certification, or equivalent computer training.


Experience with IT support ticketing systems.


Customer Service experience.


Warehouse automation experience (barcode scanners, thermal printers).


Experience with iPhone devices and iOS advantageous.


Experience with Apple Mac devices and Mac OS advantageous.
