Job Description

Wells Fargo Commercial Lending Servicing Technology (CLST) is seeking a Senior Technology Manager 5 (TM5) to provide leadership for an application delivery team supporting the Corporate Trust Services (CTS) business line. This manager will lead a high-performing, globally dispersed team in supporting custom developed and vendor provided technology solutions for CTS users and will also help lead some larger Wholesale technology level initiatives. Immediate focus areas of this position will include but not limited to the following:

This candidate will drive a One CTS technology strategy that transforms our platforms and processes to respond better to business agility and rationalizes our application portfolio. This candidate will provide technology managementto Corporate Trust functions around Convential Debt (corporate finance, municipal, syndicated loans), Structured Debt (asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, collateral loan obligation, document custody, agency services), and Specialized Services (business escrow, collateral trust, lease, longevity).

Duties include:

  • Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with key business leaders to understand their strategy, align appropriate technology strategy and partner to accomplish mission critical initiatives
  • Communicate change effectively with front office, middle office, and technology support groups, finance, and various risk groups. Exhibit practical communication style to converse with vendors, internal technical professionals and senior/executive leadership
  • Work with senior leadership to understand business vision and create IT strategies that support its implementation. Deliver results by using thorough planning and organization skills.
  • Optimize development, testing/verification, and deployment processes for the delivery team
  • Ensure projects impacting the technology stack are properly scoped and executed to meet business objectives while making sure all projects are on target and on budget
  • Maintain strong risk and security compliance for the application portfolio (internal and vendor)
  • Enforce stability and scalability in the application platforms to ensure high availability and resiliency for business effectiveness in a global operating environment
  • Collaborate with internal business and technical partner teams to improve effectiveness of delivery and reduce/eliminate inefficiencies
  • Commitment to maintain service and operating level agreements
  • Develop team members through the individual development plans; identify skills and competencies for development (or leverage strengths).

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology experience
  • 5+ years of management experience in an IT environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years of management experience in a software delivery and support area
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in a production environment
  • 5+ years leadership building a blended offshore delivery team
  • Knowledge and understanding of Java/Oracle development tools and environments
  • Previous experience forecasting budgets and performing talent reviews
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating relationships with partners, both inside and outside the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people and build high performing and collaborative teams.
  • Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
  • Experience with data strategy and canonical data models
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Corporate Trust and/or Financial Services industry experience a plus
  • Previous experience managing other managers
  • Experience working with senior business leaders to convey changes in policy and align to IT target operating models
  • Experience creating a balanced delivery organization with matrix-managed offshore resource teams
