The EIT GPMO drives standardization, scalability and consistency across Enterprise Information Technology within project and program management services and functions. We provide best in class portfolio management and project execution on behalf of our business and technology partners.

This position is for a senior project manager to provide oversight on Data Technology Projects with strong communication skills to interact with all levels of leadership across the organization. The project manager in this position will be responsible for overall management and success of a variety of Data Technology projects. Responsibilities include execution, governance, risk management, financial management and reporting as well as planning to meet future project deliverables. The candidate will need to develop in-depth subject matter expertise of the projects and programs assigned, including the roadmap and interdependencies between other projects and programs. This role requires end-to-end project management accountability, demonstrating ownership of the entire process from beginning to end.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for leading project teams and managing activities associated with high-visibility projects that are long term, company-wide (crossing multiple organizational entities) and significant in risk, scope and complexity
  • Responsible for end-to-end project management, demonstrating ownership of the entire process from beginning to end
  • Consults with business partners to clarify and define complex project requirements and business cases, including statements of work and understanding the interdependencies of the applications within the portfolio
  • Technical Project Methodology and Enterprise Project Methodology Adherence
  • Project Financial Management up to $10M or more
  • Stakeholder & Team Partnership and Leadership
  • Ownership & Commitment
  • Develops and revises highly complex project plans and budgets, while maintaining a +/- 8% financial variance
  • Responsible for understanding problems, bringing issues to resolution, and escalating as necessary to meet timelines
  • Interacts and negotiates with senior and/or executive management on a regular basis
  • Creates and implements complex communication plans
  • Creates and delivers presentations on project goals and plans, including progress reports
  • May directly manage project staff, including selection, training and participating in performance evaluations

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • 4+ years of information technology experience
  • 4+ years of Governance and Compliance experience
  • 5+ years of relationship management experience with business and technology partners
  • 3+ years of experience managing and reporting on project financials
  • 10+ years of experience managing project scope, schedule and cost
  • 6+ years of experience identifying, documenting, escalating and resolving issues
  • 3+ years of experience managing stakeholders
  • 3+ years of communications experience
  • 5+ years of risk identification and documentation experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading matrixed resources
  • 4+ years of experience leading multiple workstreams, applications, or deliverables

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvements
  • Ability to manage process improvement initiatives to optimize operational effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo STAMP (System Time-reporting, Accounting Management for Projects)
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies: used in waterfall or Agile development projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles: leading large scale technology projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology project management: large, cross platform projects and programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Project Methodology (EPM)
  • Release management exposure; preferably within Wells Fargo
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to provide leadership by coaching, training, and mentoring
  • Advanced Microsoft Project skills
  • Wells Fargo project management experience
  • Project Management Universal Workstation (PMUWS) experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience managing data projects
  • Financial services technology project and program management experience, preferably including international banking applications
  • Proven experience leading highly complex, large scale technology projects and/or program efforts with up to $10MM annual program and/or project budgets
  • Proven leadership, relationship building skills, ability to influence and lead project resources without direct management authority
  • Proven strategic planning experience
  • Expert knowledge and experience managing essential risk mitigation activities including identification, tracking, follow-up, escalation, and contingency planning on risks, issues. Must understand interdependencies and mitigate issues and risks across projects within the program.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
