Program Management Office Center of Excellence (PMO COE) Overview:

The PMO COE drives standardization, scalability and consistency across Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) within project and program management services and functions. We provide best in class portfolio management and project execution on behalf of our business and technology partners. With focus on our partners, team members and execution excellence, we are comprised of three different groups:

  • EIT PMO:

With the ability to analyze both broadly across the portfolios and deeper into specific portfolios, our PMO leaders work with the CIOs and service domain leaders to ensure investments are effectively managed and in alignment with our vision.

  • Workforce PMO:

Delivers EIT portfolio and project management workforce resource staffing in support of the EIT project portfolio execution, delivering technology project management services across Wells Fargo. Maximizing value for Wells Fargo stakeholders through global capabilities for program management, project management and project coordinator services.

  • Process, Tools and Governance:

Ensures that well-informed, prepared and motivated project managers can effectively lead technology projects, while leveraging standard processes and tools to accelerate project value delivery across the enterprise.

The ideal candidates will has some basic financial services industry experience. This person needs to bring a can do attitude along with being a quick learner of new tools and processes. We are looking for a self-starter in scheduling meetings; making phone calls and collecting the information necessary to organize a team of matrixed resources and following up until various tasks are completed and communicated. Each position will support one of the following groups: Enterprise Technology Infrastructure, Service Delivery, Corporate Properties.

Each PM5 will be responsible for:

  • TPM Adherence
  • Project Financial Management
  • Stakeholder Partnership
  • Team Leadership
  • Ownership & Commitment
  • Responsible for leading project teams and managing activities associated with high-visibility projects that are long term, company-wide (crossing multiple organizational entities) and significant in risk, scope and complexity
  • Responsible for end-to-end project management, demonstrating ownership of the entire process from beginning to end
  • Consults with business partners to clarify and define complex project requirements and business cases, including statements of work and understanding the interdependencies of the applications within the portfolio
  • Develops and revises highly complex project plans and budgets, while maintaining a +/- 2% financial variance
  • Responsible for understanding problems, bringing issues to resolution, and escalating as necessary to meet timelines
  • Interacts and negotiates with senior and/or executive management on a regular basis
  • Creates and implements complex communication plans
  • Creates and delivers presentations on project goals and plans, including progress reports
  • May directly manage project staff, including selection, training and participating in performance evaluations

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • 4+ years of information technology experience
  • 10+ years of experience managing project scope, schedule and cost
  • 6+ years of experience identifying, documenting, escalating and resolving issues
  • 3+ years of experience managing stakeholders
  • 3+ years of communications experience
  • 4+ years of Governance and Compliance experience
  • 5+ years of risk identification and documentation experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading matrixed resources
  • 4+ years of experience leading multiple workstreams, applications, or deliverables
  • 3+ years of experience managing and reporting on project financials
  • 5+ years of relationship management experience with business and technology partners

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles: leading large scale technology projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies: used in waterfall or Agile development projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology project management: large, cross platform projects and programs
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Project skills
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo STAMP (System Time-reporting, Accounting Management for Projects)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Technology Project Methodology (TPM)
  • Wells Fargo project management experience
  • Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvements
  • Ability to manage process improvement initiatives to optimize operational effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Ability to provide leadership by coaching, training, and mentoring
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Project Management Universal Workstation (PMUWS) experience
  • Release management exposure; preferably within Wells Fargo

Other Desired Qualifications
  • This position will be responsible for a portfolio of infrastructure technology projects, with primary focus on Corporate Properties projects, deploying technologies in a new construction or restack environment, on some of the most important real estate in the Wells Fargo footprint.
  • Senior leader able to communicate effectively with project team members, up to and including senior management within the technology and partner business organizations.
  • Due to the complexity and speed of the projects, Project Manager will need to be a self-starterthat sees and understands project and program needswithout being instructed
  • Some project work may require administrating complex and detailed project analytics data
  • Strong technical skills in the infrastructure technology space, including areas such as networking, W-LAN, IP Telephony, Voice/Carrier, video conferencing, Cellular/DAS, and related technologies.
  • Understanding the commercial building construction process, and how to integrate infrastructure technology deliverables with construction deliverables and milestones is essential.
  • Experience with leading process improvement efforts in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience starting up new projects as well as taking over established projects and working them to conclusion.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
